Next couple of years will tell us, Not saying it will happen but wouldn't be surprised if he just becomes a squad player and impact sub.

This may be a bit controversial but hey-ho, I am still yet to see anything from CHO to convince me that he has the ability to become a regular first team player. I know people speak about his injury slowing up his potential, but to date all I have seen is a kid that can run fast, and he may have even lost a bit of pace since his injury. I am still yet to see the ability on and off the ball to affect games that will help him to cement a place here. With the rate that football moves at, there will already be kids coming through that will be challenging him, as well as any transfer activity that will cause competition.

Therefore, its a harsh reality that regardless of age and injuries, the first team of a top six, and CL side is not a proving ground, you have to arrive and deliver straight away, and then carry on delivering.  Its hard, buts its football, there is always someone ready to take your spot.

Looking at recent performances, the injury, some of the off field media attention, the Bayern Munich deal may well have been good business after all. Perhaps if CHO still needs to develop, maybe he needs to spend more time with the development squad. I hope not. I really want him to make it with us, a rapid player like Pulisic, with similar finishing qualities would be brilliant. To have players marauding down both flanks would be great but I confess I a not yet convinced by CHO.

Ugh... He's 19... He's had injuries all season and has only just came back, give him a break. Sancho? Reallyyy?? Is this the comparisons we're making now? Well no wonder we're disappointed. CHO showed a lot of promise last season and at the beginning of the season, he's been hit with a lot of injuries which aren't exactly his fault.

The first time i seen him play was against Arsenal in a pre season game. He looked like a real superstar he made bellerin look like the youngster against a seasoned pro. He hasn't really kicked on but i feel that's due to the injury and the switch in position. Frank seems to play him on the right. I thought he played well there in games under Sarri last season especially with Hazard because he stretched teams allowing Hazard to move into the space.

He's just signed a new contract i think he needs to get his head down now if he wants to stay at the club.

So a young player who has been out with a major Achilles injury is now behind some young players who havent had a major injury? Is that your amazing take from this?

Yeah the Greenwood who has scored the same amount of goals this season as Abraham. If you have only heard of him recently then you just haven't been paying attention. The boy is very very special. 

CHO was special. He might be special again. But it's been a long time since he showed it. He needs to seriously give himself a kick up the backside as I am not convinced he wants it enough.

He's competive and sometimes at the top of important, underlying metrics and has been very competitive against Europe's best (proof at the bottom), definition of a multifaceted skillset.

His approach play and ceiling is a long way ahead of most his age in terms of talent... Intricate play, consistently dangerous productivity and ability to be effective stretching play or playing those effortless passes on either side of the box.

 

Playmaking weight of passes and crossing are equisite for his age and great at reading striker movement inside the box. How many other players do you know that can combine the speed and trickery of a winger with the creativity of a central midfielder?

And the other thing that's questioned is his attitude which is based on absolutely nothing. Even when he wanted to leave he still gave everything and delivered more often than not, he wouldn't have such quite visible great relationship with his teammates if his attitude was bad, especially given the transfer request. Pep was so worried about his introduction in the cup final he ordered he is doubled up on. He's gone through many mental challenges so far in his career and passed them with flying colours.

And here are the metrics that strongly suggest if all goes well we firmly have a world class player on our hands.

I saw those metrics on Reddit about a month back and saved them on my phone. I knew they would come in handy at some point given the general mood towards Callum since that contracts been signed pretty much.

It's bad enough having to defend our elite prospects to outsiders.

If Pulisic isnt a massive kick up the arse for CHO, then I don't think he will make it as a top player. Pulisic was in, then dropped and everyone was disappointed that Frank wasnt playing him. He's proven himself all over again and come back incredibly. Time for CHO to do the same. Prove to Frank he has to be playing, and show him a clear impact when he comes on in games, like Pulisic did.

I think he might be one of those 'what might have been' players, but I know it's too early to write him off and I hope he does come back strong.

Those stats are encouraging - looks like he is good at the sort of thing Willian is good at.

We'll see how he gets on next season when we have a better idea of our long-term attacking personnel. 

As stated in my humble opinion this will come down to his mentality to become great, and if he thinks I have a big contract and CHO is set for life, I can cruise I have nothing to prove he will not get better. But if he has the mentality of I want to be the BEST at CFC and Europe, then he will get to a very high level.
