Why dave? A two minute video clip of him passing forward? He is a liability more than an asset and that has been the case for a long time now. Shearer rightfully pointed out all his defensive flaws in the half-time analysis tonight. I thought he was very fair with his assessment.

OK give Jorginho time and space and he can pass, but so can countless other players. Take that space away, that time away, close him down and he is very, very easy to nulify. It is plain as day he has no pace, no power and as Shearer said, he doesn't read danger well in respect of the opposition movement and closing space.

Yes, we have problems at the back but that is not the major issue for me. It is, (barring Kante), our complete lack of physical presence, athleticism and pace in our midfield. And Jorginho is a major factor in that.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't take Jorginho out the firing line for a while, play Kovacic and Kante in a midfield 2 and let Jorginho come back in the Europa league. Jorginho is well out of form and confidence.

Problem there is Ernie I don't believe Kovacic has shown himself to be any better than Jorginho. I also think he looks very lightweight too. The plus point is he can dribble the ball which Jorginho can't do but other than that I don't think it is an obvious upgrade.

That said, I would be happy to see it happen as at least it would mean Sarri is trying something different for once.

Yeah I agree with you there :good2:

Been saying that for ages but Sarri is too stubborn. He needs to take him out of PL games.

Some nice passing, perhaps we're being a bit tough on him when Kovacic and Barkley are creating very little also. Would be nice to see Sarri mix things up and have him playing in front of Kante and get him a little more involved, while giving us more defensive shape?

There was a reason we didn't deploy Fabregas as a lone holding midfielder and paired him with someone like Matic, feels like this may be a similar situation. The issue just again comes back to Sarri's refusal to mix things up.

Edit: Looks like Ernie and Just have made similar points above.

Now now fellas you know you cannot say that. There are a few on here over the years who point out if you dont go to the bridge every game, or at least frequently during the season, us armchair fans cannot say anything against them as they are the TRUE Chelsea fans.

Though my opinion  remains the same. I did not boo bogard,  jokanovic or sutton. I would not boo any in blue. I will complain about them on here but in the ground it would always be support.

As a true match going fan who’s opinion is more valid than yours I say;

it’s disgraceful.

Did you go to the game tonight? I'm interested to know if it was actually boo's coming from the fans.

Can’t be booing players just because we think they’re playing sh*t.
Unless they’ve done something to mug off the fans no player should be booed.
Was he booed during the game?

Yes, there were boos from the fans, but a disgraceful minority

Was it directed to any specific player?

To Jorginho when he came on.

Yeah, I just don't get why he's the scapegoat! First half tonight we were dreadful, not capable of controlling the match, and I think that's where Jorginho makes the difference. But then people expect him to protect the defence from Luiz and Alonson's mistakes! That's not his job!

But, in any case, if you go to the Bridge just don't boo our players no matter how much you dislike them. This has happened twice in a row, shameful.

The only player I can remember getting boo's from our lot in recent times was Sturridge, and I hated it then too. Let's not be like Real Madrid fans, we don't boo our own. Booing a player is going to achieve nothing positive.

Jorginho is doing his role, and he's a nice guy. Not perfect for all things since he's pretty weak in tackles without the ball and weak in the air but for what he does he's good, if he was at Man city everyone would praise him how he's such a good passer for Pep and bla bla bla the usual. Rio trash talked Jorghy pretty hard as if he doesn't understand why he is there and why he is important for the 3 in the middle, I don't recall Rio ever trashtalking a Manu player like that.

We have to first like our own players and defend them so that others can't attack them. Jorginho isn't really at fault, but hey he looks like he's the skinny new guy so it must be very tempting to pick on him.

I think that many see Jorginho as an embodiment of Sarriball. Booing him is equivalent with saying fxxk you to Sarri face.

While I am frustrated with Sarri and Jorginho, but I think it is disgraceful to treat our own player like this. Only Courtois deserves this kind of treatment.

Booing Jorginho is a disgrace to be honest. You can boo Sarri for his tactics but not Jorginho who is simply doing his job, in his first season in PL. Cut the guy some slack. He is learning the league in probably the most difficult place in the team.

I really don't understand booing our own players. Jorginho is in a rut and needs our support now more than ever. Booing him is the most counter productive thing I can think of. Yes he's become the poster child for Sarriball, but that's not his fault!

The booing was stupid and in poor taste.  As much as I have hated on him here I also don't lay the blame at his feet.  He is currently a fish out of water.  Brand new not  only to probably the toughest league to adapt to for a player of his style, but also tasked to be the engine and completely change the style of a team he just joined. I'm holding out hope it's just a matter of not a lot of time before we see his best rather than his worst.
