I just don’t think he will ever work in those spaces the manager wants him to operate in. I kind of hate TT's current system. None of the forwards have looked good, and there's got to be a reason for that. Pulisic is not a striker; Havertz is not a striker. Pulisic's best position is wide left. I'd like to see Havertz in an attacking mid position alongside Mount. Put CHO wide right. Lukaku up top. Obviously James at RB. Maybe Dave at LB with Chillwell out. Rudiger and Christensen at CB. The problem is DM. I don't think Jorginho can play that role. I would love to see Declan Rice there. This would be a question mark for now. There's more goals in that line up. Not as rigid defensively, but we're in a bad patch there anyway.

Yeah it’s definitely Jorginho that’s the problem with that team… I’ve said it before, there’s a reason we play 3 at the back and it’s because our defenders aren’t good enough, Rudi and Christensen haven’t become world class overnight, Tuchel just had them in a system where their weaknesses are protected better Edited December 19, 20214 yr by timetowaste
December 19, 20214 yr Can't really blame him, he's not a striker but I guess if he had 2 matches like this under Pep he would do better, our system just doesn't cater to whoever is there in the middle.
December 19, 20214 yr He's not a striker, and the first half we just kept hoofing balls up to him like he's Giroud. Can't realyl expect him to do much with those. Was a bit better 2nd half, but is defintely not suited to striker position.
December 19, 20214 yr Pulisic touched the ball very few times from at least the 35th minute on. He was pretty good and almost scored. He hasn’t been good lately, but he played well today as a target striker lol.
December 19, 20214 yr I was way too optimistic in picking him as my first goalscorer. What was I thinking? A searing run here and there, preferably looking up and being aware of his teammates and opponents, and some proper decision-making is all I ask. Oh and scoring or assisting would be nice, too. Ta.

Watching from the lofty heights of west upper on Thursday you could see him making runs (and he was working hard) but as par the course for a Chelsea striker he realised the ball will never come and stopped making them.

December 21, 20214 yr What did I read the other day someone wrote ...'he's only American who doesn't know how to shoot' Which I thought was quite funny given the amount of guns they have south of here. Like many of the players we bought recently he is consistently inconsistent; one week a decent game, the next sh*te, Ziyech, Werner and Havertz have all been the same. I'd flog him personally and Ziyech and buy a decent attacking midfielder

December 23, 20214 yr If TT is not going to play him in his proper position, he should just sale him. He is obviously surplus to requirement, but frankly Chelsea have looked like trash when he is not on the pitch too. The only time he is a consistent threat is when he is healthy and getting quality minutes on the pitch. He has only been really healthy a few months of his Chelsea career. I say sale him to a club that needs him at his position, even if it is Liverpool.

I agree, but he is not it and they should not expect much if they are forced to play him there. Even when we are at full strengthTT often will not play him in his natural position because he has many players for that spot...like I said he is surplus to requirement.
December 24, 20214 yr For me Pulisic is good from the bench when we need a goal, we saw it at Brentford that run across the box to win the penalty. He can be a game changer yet don't think he offers enough from the start.
December 24, 20214 yr Feel for Pulisic but the best thing for Pulisic is to get away from Chelsea and the sooner the better. Seems this move would make most Chelsea fans happy (as they are really down on him) and this kid can get regular playing time somewhere else in his preferred position. Chelsea will keep churning through coaches and players always looking for greener grass and their academy players will continue to find opportunities elsewhere. Hopefully they are smart enough to hold onto James and Mount, but each of their managers comes in with his preferred type of player and turnover occurs. It's the nature of the big clubs in the PL. Playing for Chelsea is a dream for many but getting out can create opportunities. Getting away has been great for Abraham. It certainly did not hurt De Bruyne and Mo Salah. Hoping to see Pulisic playing in other colors in February.
December 25, 20214 yr I agree, it also worked wonders for Eden! I'd love to see Christian move on somewhere else, just to stop these Pulisic FC members droning on. The guy can twist an ankle if a blade of grass is slightly blowing in a breeze, he can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo and consistently runs into defenders. If Lulu is the next Chelsea manager and he still isn't on form, she wouldn't even pick him to start. If you can only support 1 player while watching football, its time to start following boxing.
December 25, 20214 yr He makes me miss Willian, and I thought Willian was crap ! I guess Willian was more frustrating, mainly because his fitness record meant we had more to moan about, and especially so once the novelty of his deflected free kicks wore off ! Here's hoping Pulisic has an excellent 2022 for us :-)
December 26, 20214 yr He's been poor in his last few games but I don't blame him since he's been forced to play a false nine. Actually looked better at wingback today.
