His goal was very well taken, but I saw a lot of running with little to no end product. He gave possession away a few times too. I'd love for him to stay here and develop, but i'm not seeing too much that makes me feel we'd make a mistake selling him to Bayern for 35Million or whatever. Willian was comfortably the man of the match.
January 27, 20197 yr Happy with Ampadu and Kovacic, happy that RLC is back as well. Higuain looks great out there, he will be a nightmare to guard with Hazard,Kante in the team and when we play faster breaks. Willian man of the match, great second goal. In the end, Hudson-Odoi scored and proved he's top talent, sad to know this might be his last game for Chelsea. Edited January 27, 20197 yr by Gol15
January 27, 20197 yr good win, and a win is always enjoyable despite the boring patches throughout the match. seeing that Kovacic played the 90 mins, really hope RLC can start the next game ahead of him, but only if his back has fully recovered
January 27, 20197 yr I don't think it was a good performance today, it was another of those performances where our lack of tempo made it look easy for teams that sit back and defend. But still, it's a 3-0 win, and cup ties rarely see the most top quality performances, especially against lower league teams. On to the next round.

Is that what is considered a very good performance? He stayed on his feet and he linked play ok? He wasn’t on the ball all that much. Like I said, he done OK, no better or worse than Morata & Giroud would have done - funnily enough Giroud got an assist within about 5 mins of being in so linked the play very well himself with Willian!

He could have played 90 minutes standing in the center circle and there'd be posts about how he looks better. I also assume CHO will get MOTM. Yep. You got the idea. There will probably be a few people voting for Kovacic though. Not because he played very well but because he isn't called Barkley.

I mean, I’m sure he will turn out to be but to claim that on this performance is a massive stretch, he’s been anonymous for large parts of the game barring some nice movement. I’m sure he’ll come good with time to bed in but I think people are going a bit OTT based on tonight. Wasn’t a spectacular debut, but I’m happy enough with that. Over Morata he gives a better first touch and physical presence. Over Giroud he gives mobility and movement and hopefully a better eye for goal. Will he be a success in Blue, I hope so but we’ll not know till May.

Well I was observant to everything that Higuain did, all the little things matter to me because in comparison Morata was horrible with his body language. Example, Higuain doesn't connect with a cross from the middle, smiles puts a sign of a good try to his teammate and automatically goes to pressure the opponent that is with the ball, all in a matter of 1-2 seconds. Constantly trying to make runs and asking for the ball when he's deeper. The simple fact that Willian approached him with the ball and he hugged him and told him to take the penalty shows that he is confident and has a good character. Morata would have been with his head down from minute 10 till min 80' and he would just wave his arms up and fall down, Higuain showed that he knows his role and that he doesn't have any additional baggage with him on the pitch, he's happy to be there and to contribute.
January 27, 20197 yr Good performances from a lot of the fringe players. Thought it was a promising debut from Higuain, while Giroud made an impact with the game stretched. Happier with this pair challenging to lead the line for the secon half of the season. Hudson Odoi and Willian both had good games, hopefully that wasn't the last CHO appearance in a Chelsea shirt. Think Sarri now has 6 players all deserving of starts in the three attacking spots (two, when you assume Hazard's a given). Still challenging on all fronts. Looking forward to the next one.

We did very well in training and worked really hard. "That's one of my highlights. It was nice to top it off with a goal." He's asked if that could be his final game for Chelsea... "I don't know, I can't say. I'll keep working hard and you never know what will happen."

He wants to play for Chelsea - if CHO doesn't want to be here or has his head turn, then sell him to Bayscum & get a player that has stated publicly that he wants to play for Chelsea.
January 27, 20197 yr Who's that Callum Hudson O something lad? He's orite him inhe? Why ave I never seen him before?

January 27, 20197 yr Professional job off the back of Thursday night's drama and a tricky away game in coming up in midweek. Willian was probably the best of the bunch, worked and showed composure. Higuian had to feed on scraps, we aren't the best at making chances for our strikers, but morata was second behind Salah for big misses, since the start of last season, so hopefully higuian can stick a few more away over the course of the rest of the season. CHO again showed glimpses, not enough for him to warrant starting consistantly, he is still very raw. Can't see him staying though, it's a shame because I think he would break through in the next 18 months, but teenagers these days want it all immediately, and it seems he is judging his chances here based off our record with young players over the last 15 years, rather than backing himself to break the mold. I'm sure we will have some sort of resolution by the end of week anyway.
January 27, 20197 yr I respect Odoi. The guy is honest and we know he wants to leave unlike Hazard who wants to play games and say he could see himself playing for real and also see himself signing a new contract.
