Malmo V Chelsea (EL) Thurs 14th Feb 20:00 UK

Featured Replies

Hard fought away win on a cold Thursday night, shame about conceding but its expected our defenders all need upgrading at this point in time.

The team have got the away win, nobody stood out really except maybe Barkley & Kovacic. Sarri was obviously a great manager/ coach in Itlay, his history cant be denied BUT i have a gut feeling that its just not going to translate into English football. The players just cant grasp what he wants, his subs are baffling and usually weaken the team when strength is required in the last 15-20. The football is boring, BUT fairplay to him today we won, its Valentines Day, Im off out with her indoors later for a slap up meal and hopefully a bit of 'hows your father' for for my 'pudding'!!

worth baring in mind Malmo aren’t half way through their season like we are. Glad we got the win but it wasn’t the most convincing, let’s see what Monday brings.

I am sick fed up of not seeing our youth play, I bang on about this a lot but it’s all well and good not playing them when we’re winning titles but we look stale and are horrible to watch, can they honesty be any worse?

I would say this game was just as worrying as the Manchester City game. We are weak at the back, we CANNOT penetrate whatsoever, we simply hold the ball between our defenders and wait for them to make a mistake.

Malmo have been on vacation for the past TWO MONTHS!!! Yet they ran us close this game. Are we have a fecking laugh here? We need the board to invest in some quality, DESPERATELY.

64% possession yet only 4 shots on target.

We do nothing with the amount of time we get on the ball.

Also, when was the last time Sarri made a substitution that positively impacted the team?

Been saying this forever; it’s always like for like.

Sucked out all the joy in watching us, last time I felt this way was towards the end of Mourinho’s time.

Despite scoring 2 goals, this display against 3rd rate opposition has been more worrying than the 6-0 hiding of last week.  We still look like Fred Karno's Army  IMO, certainly not a well drilled team looking to fight for a CL spot let alone face Utd on Sunday; and those in the studio need to take their rose coloured glasses off and stop stating it was a good performance.  Constantly frustrated seeing the ball being played back and sideways, going absolutely nowhere except where we started from and as we have all said previously, WTF does Jorghino offer this team? he does absolutely f**k all.....can't wait for Sunday  no doubt to see more of the remarkable Plan A.

I am wondering if Abramovich is watching this shower of sh*t and thinking:  money well spent.

Lets be honest: we would not play any worse if we did not have a manager at all and all our training was done on PS4 playing FIFA game.

Yeah this has to be the least happy I am about an away knockout match in Europe that we've won. I honestly thought we were lucky to win, completely uninspiring for me, this tika taka nonsense doesn't do it for me, but a wins a win I guess but we really need to improve for Monday.

Tomorrow it will be the usual suspects saying he didn't do enough in his 7min appearance to warrant starting :laugh2:

Ye the Sarri can do no wrong camp. Did anyone watch Sancho recently against Hoffenheim. That is a youngster playing week in week out on top of his game. Hudson Odoi is being stunted majorly and its clear as day. If he wont give him any chances, i thought atleast today was his day. But he literally has zero faith in the youth.

Standard Europa league away performance.

I can understand the subs tbh, might as well give hazard a run out if we've had him travel, and kante was the only midfielder on the bench to give jorginho a lift.

What I don't get is why CHO came on so late. Pedro was terrible again, I know it seems pretty fashionable to slate Willian, but pedro has been awful for a while.

Back to winning ways though, although it was hardly an inspiring performance, bar about 10 mins in the second half.

I'm not sure how the United game will go, we have been pretty good in the big games at home under sarri, so I'm hoping it continues on Monday.

Have Willian or Pedro done what CHO just did all night?

What exactly did he do?

Cue the posts from the usual suspects moaning about people moaning cause we’re not allowed to dislike the dross we keep getting served up.

You won away from home in a european knockout competition - what more do you want you spoilt f**k?

What kinda stupid question is that? What have Willian and Pedro done this season that warrants them starting every single game over CHO. Whether or not CHO is better than them (which he is) it's more helpful to the club for him to start. He can only get better, the other two won't and can't get better.

He played 6 minutes against a sh*te team, while Vinicius and Sancho are starting in the champions league. It's inexcusable.

You're right we won, 2-1 against a team in their offseason lol. Not much to be proud of.

Good result considering the city result and pressure to win against a decent side away from home in abroad. We made it hard for ourselves though.

No clinicalness or decisiveness from our attacking players. We should have scored at least 3/4 goals.

The goal came from a poor pass from Luiz which led to the counter. Silly mistakes again led to goal/s.

A much needed win to regain some confidence and form. Probably perfect team to do it against.
