August 14, 20232 yr Exactly what we signed Gusto for. Reece doesn't have to run himself into the ground three times a week now, glad we have Gusto so James can likely remain injury free.

August 15, 20232 yr My dog is currently on a strict diet, so I could at the moment be weight-obsessed, but Reece looked like he'd shed a few kilos.
August 17, 20232 yr FFS ... Over to Gusto and whoever the vice-captain is ... Enzo hopefully ! Edited August 17, 20232 yr by Sexyfootball
August 17, 20232 yr Still insist the £250k/w looks crazy every time he is injured, which is very often.

I said it multiple times. Why doesn`t he lose a bit of weight? He is not fat but he carries a lot of muscle-mass and clearly his body can`t handle it. His game partially relies on being physically strong but surely we would be fine with a slight performance decrease if he was able to stay fit for longer stretches of time. Very worried his career is going to be another example of a great footballer ruined by injuries. Edited August 17, 20232 yr by reparto corse
August 17, 20232 yr If he has another injury hit season, I think the club need to have a difficult and serious think about whether or not we should cash in on him next year. Because, as good as he is, he cannot do anything for us in the physio room half the season.
August 17, 20232 yr Think it is a major weakness in just having an untried Gusto as back up. I can't believe that we haven't gone after Cancelo or similar. I get that it is serious competition but Reece is just made of cheese. We have to have senior cover in this area as well.
August 17, 20232 yr I was also staggered that we have Reece as captain and then Chilly as vice. Who is the vice vice?!
August 17, 20232 yr Gusto is good enough. He was shaky vs Liverpool but that's understandable. Premier league debut at home in what was an intense game, not easy to be thrown in there. He's a good player and solid replacement. The sooner we stop relying on Reece the better.
August 17, 20232 yr Caicedo can play right back. He did that for Brighton at the end of the season. I guess lavia can play defensive mid , because I wasn't too impressed with Gusto even though he was nice during pre season
August 17, 20232 yr This is becoming like a Groundhog Day nightmare. Something needs to be done. The same thing happened last season, he was out for two months, came back and couldn't even finish 90 minutes and was out again. This is a joke.

August 17, 20232 yr He needs to lose some weight. As has been said, its not that he's fat (obviously), it's just he carries too much muscle. Thighs are too thick. For the amount of running he does and how fragile he is, he needs to be leaner. Such a f**king shame though. He'll never get a chance to claim that 'best RB in the world/league' title if he can't actually be on the pitch playing regularly.

One's a full blown international, World Cup winner and Runner up, CL, Super Cup and World Club Cup winner, and 4 times Bundesliga champion. It might not fit the age profile (27 too old? Jesus!) but its a safer pay of hands i reckon. Maybe Gusto will grow into the position. We are about to find out i suppose
August 17, 20232 yr He needs to have a similar surgery to the one his sister got and have these problems fixed for good, no matter how long it'll take him to recover. Not sure why he didn't do it all summer. Perhaps trying to impress the new manager? Anyway, it needs to happen.
August 17, 20232 yr I mean the perfect time to have surgery was over the summer, and if this does become the case it is another slap across the face from the medical team.

Either way, something has to give. Either a long lasting surgical solution to these constant injuries, a whole new physical build or it might be time to cash in on him.
