Not sure if Jose is a former shell of himself or Ole has some black magic involved when we play them but to beat Jose 3 times and lose the same amount against Ole is so weird.

Maybe he was reading my comments but every player looked like they knew their role where they need to be in each phase of the game from start to finish tactically spot on.

But why has these come against Tottenham both times?

Full praise for Lampard completely out thought Jose again but we don't play Jose every week, so I want to see Lampard keep this going, play to the strengths of the player's and today was a perfect example of that.

This shows the system, the tactical framework is just as important as the players and you can mask deficiencies in players with the right tactical framework.

Some Lampard let's see you keep this going.

At least Lampard can say he beat Mourinho legitimately, unlike Solksjaer who needed the ref and VAR.

Think Utd have been fortunate against us though Frank has not always played the right team, too much hoping for Bats to come good.

Yeah Lampard most definitely has cost us points by persisting with Bats, but hey he’s a rookie. Hopefully he’s learnt his lesson now and we can move on.

I remember at one point I was worried that we were never going to beat any of the top 4 teams. Since then we looked more than capable of beating them, huge credit to Lampard.

Onwards & upwards.

We mainly seem to struggle against mid-table teams like Everton, Southampton and Man Utd.

Would like to see us run with that system in the league for a few matches which probably means Tammy and Kante on the bench.

We just looked so much more comfortable.

Is this a Giroud-specific system the way you see it, Strider? Wondering why you think Tammy can’t be in it..

Giroud is a better finisher and currently bringing in other players into the game more, just look at Mount's breaks today.

Other defenders are finding it easier to mark Tammy out of the game and Giroud looks far more likely to convert crosses whereas Tammy seems to do his best at missing them.

Tammy needs to be the reserve striker to keep the momentum when Giroud is tired or out of form.

Bye bye Bats, Championship for you next season, IMO

Interesting. Tough one as I really rate them both. Which one we play may end up  depending on who we’re playing. one issue I see with Giroud  - wasn’t exposed today but I suspect it will be in due course - is his slowness. Perhaps it matters less in this system as he can combine with other quicker players as you say? Felt we were missing Willian in this regard, but then Barkley made me eat my words with that assist and solid performance.

WOW! Talk about damned with faint praise!!!

Frank said in his post-match interview; "this result is all down to Brutos and his unequivocal support. My biggest fan".

He phoned me too, to thank me for the help.

Says he's going back to what he knows against Bayern.

Did he thank you for not posting any stupid stats in the build up? That really makes a difference!

You still blame our losses on him don't you?

Most job contracts come with a 6-month probation period where the potential of candidates is assessed and their achievements and mistakes are measured. Following that review the contract is made permanent, the probation period is extended or ties are cut.

I will attempt to assess Frank's first 6 months. I should at this point declare my hand. The three things that have given me the most pleasure in my life are:

1. Frank Lampard

2. Barbara Windsor ringing the church bells in Carry on Dick

3. The birth of my daughter.

It is pretty close between Barbara and my daughter but Frank is way ahead. So do I think he should be above criticism? Yes I do.

He has shipped some criticism on here, most of it with the caveat that he should not be above criticism. Wrong.

His achievements:

We are fourth in the league and still in the Champions League and FA Cup, for f**k's sake. He has integrated a number of academy players into the squad. He has shown flexibility and courage in his selections. He has shown a willingness to experiment with formations, tactics and personnel. He has made us entertaining to watch in what is after all an entertainment business. He has represented the club with intelligence, good grace and class.

His mistakes:

With the benefit of hindsight he has made some poor selections and substitutions. He can't decide on the best combination of his bang average collection of centre halves. He can't get  the best out of Kante with Jorginho in the team.

Overall I'm happy to offer Frank the Chelsea job for life.
