Nkunku is a formality. Only signed pre-contract and not the official one so the club can't announce him yet.

Why the hold up is anyone's guess.

Marketing.

Wonder how Potter leaving or whoever comes in affects his decision to stay at the club.

I reckon the pointless Felix loan has muddled up the water in that respect. Can’t remember Mount starting a match ever since he turned which is ridiculous in itself when you consider Felix has been bang average. Was thinking yesterday that  we are way too top heavy; 9 players for 3 roles, including Aubameyang who has been frozen out and excluding Fofana.
It also doesn’t help when it seems he has been frozen out because of his contract issues. I don’t see how not playing him and making him feel valued helps in  making him stay.

Felix has created more chances for the opposition than he has for us. All fart and no pooh, little tricks and flicks that contribute sod all.

Yeah, I agree. It's actually quite depressing.

It feels like they've decided they need to sell (to fund half the dross we've signed), so are just completely squeezing him out. They're probably scared of him showing his worth to the fans.

If we sell Mount to fund that unlikeable ass Felix... I'm lost for words.

Boehly needs to climb back up his own ass and disappear forever.

I find all of it really depressing. For me him and Reece James were the face of Chelsea, abit like how Terry and Frank were.

So pathetic he’s not being played at all, he’s clearly one of our best players. It’s going to be so painful seeing him in a different club. I really thought he and James would become one club players.

The treatment of Mount has been nothing short of embarrassing and i can only think its on the orders of Boehly.

Shows we are not the same club, when someone like Mount wants to leave.

Well on our way to become a nothing club.

In an ideal world he stays and rotates/competes with Nkunku but it looks like he's destined to leave.

Can only imagine Frank is being instructed not to utilize him given he disagrees with the final contract offer. But even then why the f**k is Gallagher still playing if we want him gone?

Does he really want to leave or is it down to £ and terms?  Why are we selling our best academy platers ffs

Think it’s a bit of both. Earlier on in the season probably wanted parity with James, seeing how we look like a rudderless ship now won’t blame him if he wants out.
According to the papers Newcastle enquired and were quoted a £80m fee & £250k/w and walked away. No one is paying £80m, we will probably get a £50m offer late in the window. Boehly screwed up giving out those ridiculous wages in the summer, and the James contract renewal. Wages look ridiculous but when you actually think of it £250k/w over 5yrs is £65m. A decent replacement will cost around £50m-£80m & will demand over £100k/w in wages.

ah right, we made this error letting Rudiger go, but also looking back those negotiations were truncated with RA being sanctioned?.... the cards will fall where they fall these next few months

My understanding is Mount has been taking his time to see the direction the club is heading. The new coach is huge for him hence why talks have been scheduled for May. It is believed by then we will have our next appointment decided.

He also wants pay parity with the high earners, feels he contributes just as much as them (which he does if we're being honest). Despite reports on the contrary board are desperate to keep him, yet it does seem they have instructed coaches to limit his game time (could just be speculation and he's not fully fit for more than 30mins).

Going by this logic every single Chelsea FC employee should be a high earner because every single one of them "contributes" as much/more as our star players

I guess one option is to sell everyone who earns parity or more than the offer we have on the table for Mount LOL.

Probably won't miss too many of them being brutally honest as well.

Purging the players highlighted in red below (plus Lukaku), would probably only leave Kante, James, Fofana and Chilwell as earning more than Mount has been offered, so he'd be in the Top 5 at the club.

Fofana and James may also have some of these new performance clauses in their deals ?  Possibly Chilwell as well. And if City are genuinely interested in Chilly, then maybe we will sell him too ? Too injury prone in his Chelsea career to date, so that may be taken into account ?  That then leaves Kante, and there have been rumours of a pay and play deal for him to replace the current £290K a week deal.

You'd think there is sufficient scope to work something out for Mount that suits all parties.

I can understand abusing rival team players key word understand not agree with. To abuse your own players though and the ones that actually performed well and are our academy graduates. I'm starting to wonder do we just have that many clueless fans or are people pretending to be Chelsea fans and abusing him because otherwise I don't get it....

Very sad that's he's had to delete his account due to the hate he was receiving. I don't really see much Mount hate in here so that's good. I think everyone's entitled to their own opinion and to express that in a non abusive way. To hate Mason Mount though all I see is jealousy of a young man that's living his dream by playing for the club he loves and playing usually with every ounce of energy he can possibly give. If that's not enough to endear you to a player (and this is without talking about other facets of his game) I don't know what will.

Don't get me wrong he's not a complete player yet and has his limitations at 24 I'm very happy with what I see. He's part of a spine I would build around personally
