I wonder if he could talk to his younger self to rediscover how he used to be able to take good corners and free kicks.

Just how bad is he at it?

If somebody asked me if next season we can only keep Gallagher or Mount I’d drive Mount to his next club myself, it’s going to be controversial but he’s not good enough to start for us, good squad player but he’s very replaceable

We’d have won with Gallagher playing 😉

But in all seriousness my issue is always his consistency, if he puts in performances like this most of the time no chance could I say he’s replaceable. Got us off to a great start tonight and I’m just absolutely gutted still

Scored a super goal and ran himself into the ground and was visibly tired by the end.

No wonder he was visibly tired. He gave everything for us last night.

Anyone that doesn't see how important Mount is for us doesn't understand football. Mount and Reece are our new Lampard and Terry.

They are just the start. Provided we treat them as we have Mount and James then Colwill, Broja and Gallagher will be stars for us as well.

Given Mason has known nothing but failure in finals at Wembley with both us and England I really hope we can produce that level of display against Palace and then the FA Cup final. Cause then we can win and end the season on a high.

Ending it with just 3rd place is a disappointing end to a season we became world champions in.

Looking the player I hoped he would become when I saw the highlights of him at Chelsea B and Derby. Great to see.

He really does not let the third world start in life he was born in to keep him down. Good lad.

12 goals and 14 assists this year. Outperforming all the other English attackers everyone raves about

The latest straw clutch is that 3/4 of them were against the bottom half and a lot of the assists were set pieces.

That said I actually think he was a lot better last season despite what the g/a stats say but his place is under no threat anytime soon.

I thought he had a really poor first half today but his game improved considerably after the break. There is a reason why he starts regularly for every manager he has.

Everyone had a poor first half today! We were having a stroll in the park in the first, including us fans (hardly any song in the first half).

I agree, last season he was just amazing, this season he’s had his dips. I guess that the rest in summer is well due and hopefully he’ll come back next season as the top player he is.

I wouldn't say everyone. I thought James was good on the first half and credible first half's by Christensen and Werner. But overall yes, it was a howler of a half.

Lampard’s son, wouldn’t get in the team under any other manager.

Shows how much influence Lamps still has at the club, he is probably the secret figure behind Sir Martins consortium and Mase is our next manager.

After losing to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final in February, Chelsea's Mason Mount is targeting "payback" as the two sides meet again next month with the Reds hunting an unprecedented quadruple.

"It's definitely time for us to win a final at Wembley, it's five finals I've lost. Now it's time to get our payback," he told ITV Sport.

Now to me that sounds like Mase wants payback for losing 5 Wembely finals. But I did not hear the interview so whether that is Sky Sports sh*t stering or actually what Mount ment I cannot say.
