Definitely his worst period in a Chelsea shirt. He looks completely burnt out, and it's something some of us have feared would happen for a while. He more than anybody could do with a proper break from football. Thank f**k there is no international football this summer, he really needs time off to refresh. 

It worries me how many games he has played in the past 4 years. 221 appearances for club and country and expected to play in over 50 games for the 4th season running. Too often we have seen what happens to young players when they play this many games at this stage of their career. The last thing I want to see is one of our best young players since Terry end up finished before he reaches his peak years.

He made some nice turns to be fair and nearly scored a worldie, I'd still put him above Pulisic/Ziyech even on current form

Has his excellent work rate...but everything else is really poor. Looks more suited to Portsmouth quality of late than Chelsea.

I hate when he plays in the front 3, never think it suits him.

If somebody asked me if next season we can only keep Gallagher or Mount I’d drive Mount to his next club myself, it’s going to be controversial but he’s not good enough to start for us, good squad player but he’s very replaceable

I thought he was OK yesterday. Better than most others although that wasn't hard at all. Constantly won duels and looked dangerous at certain times. He only needs a quick break so I wouldn't play him at Southampton.

Ziyech actually has scored worldies recently and Pulisic has been better than both. Mount has been anonymous for quite a while and even more frustrating has been the quality of his set pieces. His ability to press well is pretty much  the only thing keeping him in the side at the moment.

At least your username is fitting, because that's exactly what you're doing with posts like these.

Yeah let's all casually forget Mount has still been the most consistent player from Lamps tenure to now. Pulisic and Havertz have also had their moments. Let's also forget who assisted our UCL winning goal with a sensational through ball.

Mason Mount isn't going anywhere he's one of the few players who won't sulk when we're losing, he's not an overpaid international star that doesn't care about the club. 

No he tries to put the team on his shoulders. Sure it doesn't always work out but, I see no reason to let his current form cloud our judgement. Were we to let him go I can think of a lot of clubs that would sign him. Heck just the other day Barca were linked to him, clearly they're obsessed with us.

Edit: I reckon if Barca didn't already have Xavi they'd be trying to snipe Tuchel from us too. In the last 12 months they've sought Werner, Ziyech, Pulisic, Rudiger, Azpil, Christensen, there's been rumours of Lukaku (who hasn't been linked with him?) and now Mason.

He's played 177 games for Chelsea and England since he joined the first-team squad two-and-a-half years ago. If you consider that this includes the truncated 2020 summer and the Euros in 2021, the only real break he's had was the lockdown two years ago. 

Cut the lad some slack. He's very good and has every chance of becoming a club legend. 

Entertaining selling Mount is nonsensical. He's proved he can be a top player and hopefully he reaches his potential.

One are allowed to be slightly disappointed about his season though. Quite a few assists from set-pieces and a goal here and there (almost all of them against relegation candidates with 4/8 coming v Norwich) but generally he's not been good enough this season in my opinion.

We need both next season. Mount has been the main engine for our press last season and if we want to keep playing that modern style he's a key player and potentially new captain as well. We will most likely lose key players, Jorginho, Kante, Azpilicueta, Rudiger... Can't afford to lose Mount.

I do wonder is it is tiredness or what not but the Mount I saw at Derby and Chelsea Bitesse had a real eye for a goal, both scoring and creating them.

He had that lovely purple patch this season but in general you just cannot count on him to deliver that final ball or apply that finishing touch.

I don't expect Lampard levels of goals or anything but a solid 15 plus 15 assists he is capable of doing, yet he looks miles away from that form and looks more like Dennis wise on speed.

I’d definitely want to keep both because Mount and Gallagher can get better, but I think Gallagher has a higher ceiling. Other than his work rate, which can never be questioned, Mount is very inconsistent in terms of what a team like us needs. To be honest I’m still struggling to see what his best position is especially in our systems we’ve played under Tuchel

Yes I also think we might be better cashing-in on Mount, I like Bowen at WHU though doubt we could get him.

Mount plays as a forward for us and I don't see him as a midfielder might be better suited at a club like Leeds or a promotion side if we can get a reasonable fee in the summer, of course presuming  we have a better prospect.

He has been a great servant for us yet get the feeling he will drop back in the picking once we strengthen  our forward positions.
