I don't think that error was on Kepa though, so I don't know why people are blaming him. It was Zouma for letting the ball just roll past him.

Rubbish, pathetic from Kepa again, he's no Keeper.

Incorrect. Granted zero protection doesn’t help but he concedes too many because of his inability to challenge high balls and his incredibly poor decision making.

The defenders caused this goals today, it’s on them.

Evertons keeper didn’t make any saves of note either but he doesn’t have the chuckle brothers in front of him

Ever since the end of the international break, Jorginho hasn't been in his plans that much, first he couldn't play 90 minutes and then he became a bench player.

You still playing that card? Wasn't in his plans yet started every game until finally dropped because he was putting in consistently poor performances.

Really? You seen our form since the break?

I'm all for blaming kepa when he has a poor game or makes mistakes, but he couldn't have closed his legs any more or positioned himself better for that, it was unpredictable and with two men marking him, that ball should have been ours.

It was a poor pass which Zouma should have done more to correct. They both did poorly. Simple as.

It wasn't even a poor pass. It was a pass for Zouma to run on to. He played it in front of Zouma so he could get us forward quicker, but Zouma just ignored it until the ball was past him.

Frank trying to force Mount in the starting 11 when he shouldn't be, our midfield of Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho is a strength to play.

With Kante 2.0 being so far forward it gets overrun too easily.

Just our luck we play Everton after they sacked their manager.

They may have shown a tad more enthusiasm but in truth they’re still completely sh*t. We’ve just not been nearly good enough to beat a sh*t team. This defeat as was the West Ham one, completely on us.

But I reckon that defense is not good at all. it's been like that since the beginning of the season and very little improvements at best. However, I also feel that since that man city defeat,  the end of the series of winsd and the realization for the team and youngsters that the title is out of reach for good, players might have realized that the battle for top 4 will be real. Plus, the next UCL game will be EXTREMELY IMPORTANT since qualification is at stake and that chelsea have yet to win at home ...

I think Frank needs to drop Kepa. Some kind of message is in place... All in all we were unlucky to face them just after the sack. This is what happens when a quality team gets the energy boost.

Everton are not a quality team. They've worked their nuts off and made life hard for us, but we have gifted them the points with our defending.

Some of the knee jerk reactions on this thread...

Guys - we are a work in progress, days like today are part of where the team goes and where Frank goes. As long as we learn, I really don’t mind.

The defence has been a obvious issue since pre season, it’s now nearly Christmas and they are still making several ridiculous mistakes in games. It’s not improving as you will see when you see our goals against

He first missed Palace and then didn't complete 90 minutes in the next 3 games since he was off at min 60-70' and finally he started on the bench and this hasn't changed. Look it up.

I agree nut what royally fcks me off is this recent fixation with getting players to do these extra things to their game when they can't actually do the job they're employed for. I don't want ball playing centre backs, I don't fking care about that, i want defenders that can defend. I want a keeper that actually saves shots. I don't want a centre back who cant jump and is as weak as pi$$. When we're chasing the game and need to force the issue why is the keeper even trying to pass the ball to the worst ball player that we have when there are another seven players nearer to their goal.

I disagree.

Frank has to come up with something new. This has not been working, not today, not against Villa, not against West Ham.

Kepa should but booting it up the pitch, last 10 mins, two strikers up front, and he passes to Zoumas back, then blames Zouma, what a slapstick keeper.
