I've just read the same probably boll*cks,

Havertz has been restricted to a subs' role for recent games, and German journalist Raymond Hinko reckons the 21-year-old will be wishing he had joined Bayern Munich.

Writing in Sport Bild, he said: “Kai Havertz, even if he doesn’t say it out loud, will have already cursed a 100 times that he moved from Leverkusen to the midfield bores of Chelsea, following the lure of money.”

That reads like that particular journo-c**t is pissed off Kai came to Chelsea instead of waiting a year for Bayern to move for him.

Yes, a German journo with an overt dislike of Chelsea, writes what he thinks Haverts has been thinking.

Cant say I can even blame him when hes constantly being played out of position

The position he has played most for us is his preferred position, source? The lad himself...

Wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to go back to Germany next summer alongside Timo

If that's the case they're both sh*t houses.

Wouldn't surprise me either.

What would surprise me is either being able to do it and either thinking it's possible. They are going to be at chelsea for 3 years minimum. They either succeed here or their careers take a nose dive.

Bayern won't spend the money on either next summer. No other german club will have even 50m to spend. There's literally no chance either is playing in the bundesliga next season.

So as far as I'm concerned, any talk about regrets, moans etc is just noise. They know they need to deliver at chelsea or their careers is in the toilet and that's all that will matter to them both.

There is nothing to suggest that.  Both are on a poor run of form.  These things turn around and I don't see they shying away from a challenge.

Bayern did not want to spend the money on them before that summer either. Werner does not fit the system - and Havertz would only be good on a position Müller is on - and was even last season far away from his performances. And now there is a Musiala with a high workrate who might grow into it in the next 3 years until Müller probably will leave who is able to shine in other positions, too. Some always just see "talent" as the main "ingredient" - put actually it is adaptiblity, work rate, personality and mentality that are probably as important for the rise of a player. Not just the German media loves to hype players that until now have not shown much but that talent. Havertz still has a lot to prove. Leverkusen made it easy for him to shine - he only needed his talent to walk into the squad and the others did lot of the work. A lot of talents have failed to make the next step from that. Let's see!

Havertz given freedom to play higher up the pitch as a 10/2nd striker rather than being asked to play deeper & build play as an 8 in a 4-3-3 and he makes an excellent run in the final third & produces a quality final ball to assist CHO- one of his strengths Not really a surprise

Nice assist.  Could see he was pleased with that also.  Wasn't too bad when on, but would be interesting to see how he'd fair against the more intense first half City press.

Could not have done worse than any other player on the pitch, everyone was complete sh*t in the first half.

It seems Kai needs to play in that free advanced role for now at least if he is in the team. That is his strongest position anyway. He is very smart with his movement and it works best if the ball is played through him. He is a player that needs to be the hub. At number 8 he can't show his strengths yet in the Prem. Still finding his feet.

End of the game its hard to judge. I know he played well but the game was over.

This team desperately needs this guy to come good and soon.  Our midfield is a mess.

Lampard has to find the right role for Havertz, a free roam role or something. If it works, it could actually save his job.

Kante Gilmour

Ziyech Havertz Pulisic

Something like that, give Havertz the freedom to be anywhere he wants to be, while the wingers and double pivot will do the defensive work. Yesterday he showed one of his strengths and we need to make use of his strengths more often.

If he could link up with Werner or any striker well, then we should be doing well imo.

Like a 4231/442 hybrid formation.

I agree that if Frank can get Havertz playing it might save his job and so would give him a prominent role in the Cup and against Fulham, yet though he was better yesterday there was no pressure on him as were clearly beaten. He felt no pressure, is that important for Havertz?

Gilmour defensively worries me, he is no faster than Jorginho.

As Kante is out, it might make sense to try a midfield two of Mount and Kovacic with Havertz as either an attacking mid or No.10.
