Kai Havertz

Featured Replies

Havertz has had a few stinkers recently but I thought he played really well last night. Linked up well with Sterling and Auba. He lost the ball a few times but also set up quite a few attacks, I don’t mind a player occasionally losing the ball if they’re willing to take risks when they have the ball. He should’ve scored that header in the first half but didn’t end up mattering. And to top it off he popped up with a quality goal to win us the game.

Was it a 10/10 performance? No, but it was a lot more encouraging to see him playing and scoring that way.

For me I think he’s the biggest disappointment as a signing. Players like Pulisic and Werner  I wasnt particularly fussed on from the start, thought they both had weaknesses. Havertz I thought the real deal and when his performances weren’t always up to scratch I put it down to age, inexperience, Covid, new league, homesick, anything but realising that maybe he’s not that good.

I think the time for excuses has long since passed, no doubt he’ll score some neat little header next game and Ill think that’s him on the up but really it’s probably time to depart. Hope he has a decent WC and maybe we’ll get a good fee.

Typical Havertz one off performance again. Played well overall and a super strike for the goal.

But has he me believing in him again. Yes actually, he probably f**king has. That’s why he is so frustrating.

Here is a completely novel idea

why don’t we actually play him where

he plays for Germany or his previous club ?
strange idea I know but lumping him up front ain’t his position and doesn’t work

mind you potter probably got him down for left back next

Slight problem. We don’t have Kimmich, Kroos, Gundogan, or Goretzka.

He’s simply not good enough either way. Him and Mount in the same team is redundant and I’d rather stick with Mount.

I have better idea, leave him on the bench for a while. 9 out of 10 games he is awful and that includes when he scores.

For 3 years I've always thought this guy would come really good.  It isn't happening, atleast not in the PL.  Too casual and nonchalant for me - would not be opposed to cutting our losses and using any funds as part of a proper rebuild.

What is this position you are talking about? Until this day I don't know what his best position is.

People still blaming players. You need real creative midfielder otherwise our forward will all fail. First blame Lukaku, aubameyung, sterling, Havertz next is our young attacker.
they are all starved up frond

What about Havertz creating something himself? Twice he got into the penalty area today with a chance to create something. The first chance he smashed the ball high and well away from goal, almost like it was a clearance. It should have been a simple low cross for somebody running in on the edge of the box. The second time he just tapped it into the hands of the keeper.

You would think Havertz is betting on the opposite team with the way he seems to try and mess everything up for us.

I don’t know why teams play him as a centre forward

it’s just not his position

I disagree. His best form for both us and Levekusen came in that area.

I still maintain things would have been different had we held our nerve and given him a season there instead of signing Mr first touch but what's done is done, I accept it's at the best for all parties to move on point now.

Don't blame Germany dropping him. He is not good enough at the mo.

Germany seems to have players that are great around the striker but not a really good striker, Spain looks similar in that way. England should reach the quater-finals without problems with Kane.

His best form came at Leverkusen playing off another striker. My main worry is that's where Werner played his best football too and he failed for us.

We're now signing Nkunku who plays his football off the back off another striker. Looks like he has more in his locker but positionally Nkunku looks like it has the potential to be another Havertz.
