I doubt Dean Smith will want to send him back at the moment. He has too many players out through injury/covid. Hopefully though that might happen before the January window closes.

Any abuse by the fans should be aimed at the clubs owners,who have been happy to see the club yo-yo between the Premier League and Championship content with the parachute payments, rather than making a fist of staying in the top flight and investing in good experienced players. Billy’s loan has been nothing short of a disaster, the abuse will test his character though we have to be careful it doesn’t set him on a downward trajectory. If there is any possibility  of terminating this loan it should be done with haste, drop him down a level for six months to help rebuild his confidence.

We just have to make sure we never loan them another player ever again. He's just a scapegoat for an awful set of players who should be playing in the Championship.

100%. I think it's good for promoted clubs to not overspend (QPR) but to get promoted then immediately sell your best player Buendia is absolutely insane. Their board accepted relegation before a ball was even kicked

It's interesting just how much expectations they had for Billy there. I'm guessing that's why they are so much against him now.

The fact that they willingly put their hopes of staying up on a loan and as such on a 20 year old player... Good riddance.

Gilmour probably can't wait for his episode to finish.

We won with both Kante and Jorginho. Can't ignore either of them, they were vital.

Dont think any of us are daft enough to blame our second best defender for being 3rd.

It had the makings of a decent loan move but sadly it has gone badly.

Norwich look to be possibly the poorest team the PL has EVER seen and the change in manager has not worked, in fact they look even worse (glad Lamps dodged a bullet there - he would have been on a hiding to nothing - especially with Stevie G doing a decent job at Villa).

To be fair to Norwich supporters, I can understand their frustration and it is probably aimed more at the people who run the club. Little quality in that squad, almost destined to go down as early as back in August when the first ball was kicked. What they could have done with was an energetic midfielder who would be box to box and provide some goals and assists rather than a neat little ball paler who needs good players around him. But palace got Conor Gallagher, so too bad Canaries - enjoy the championship next season.................!

The loan hasn't worked out. Would be better to keep him with us for the rest of the season.

last season West Brom used to abuse CG too.. i really think that we should avoid sending players to relegation fodder... i cant think of a single one that worked out with them lot.

A few had doubts he was good enough to make it here but that was about as 'bad' as it got.

The loan hasn't worked but solely to put the blame on Norwich is just stupid. 

No mention of a new deal for him, 18 months to run.

If he is not looking to sign  a new deal best we sell him this week to a Brighton or Southampton for a moderate fee and buyback clause.

Between Gallagher, Broja and Billy, he would be the only one I would be comfortable selling.

He is also the only one not on a long term deal. If he won't sign then we should sell him either this window or the next one.

The main issue is, do you see him coming back next season and competing for actual playing time in our squad? I definitely wouldn't kick him to the curb, and I think he has a lot to offer our squad. But, I don't think he is going to want to be a 5th or 6th option and play mostly cup matches and the occasional CL/PL tie. If we are truly looking to bring in Tchuameni or Rice then that means our midfield options are going to be: Kova, Mount, Gallagher, Kante, Jorgi, Rice/Tchuameni and then Gilmour. Granted, if we do bring in Tchuameni or Rice, then there is a chance that Jorgi wouldn't even be here.

This is also assuming that RLC, Saul, and Barkley are no longer with the squad.
