September 1, 20223 yr Really disappointing if he's being sold, probably turn into a great DLP in a couple of years. With us struggling so much in midfield and can't get replacements, last thing we need is to sell one of our own. I still remember that Everton game before the Covid shutdown, totally run the game at 18. He played against Liverpool in cup game, didn't look out of place either. Kante would had a hard time at Norwich too
September 1, 20223 yr Makes No Sense If We Are Selling Him, With The Injuries We Have/Had To CM's He Should Be Getting More Game Time, Likes To Run Forward With The Ball And Pass It Forward So You'd Of Thought He'd Be Ideal For Our Midfield But Nope
September 1, 20223 yr Owners don't want to sell him apparently, so most likely a loan if he is going elsewhere
September 1, 20223 yr As horrific as his loan was he looks a lot better in our possession based system, hope Tuchel gives him another chance
September 1, 20223 yr Not a chance Tuchel doesn't trust him and tbh why would he stay when going elsewhere would probably give him game time

Whats he looked like in training, whats the stats on his fitness levels, how is he developing, is he developing ? The people who can answer these questions make the decisions on who stays. We fans haven't seen him kick a ball for months, we don't know the fitness data, we don't know anything really. If he's developed and is ready for the first team, he would of been playing, like Gallagher has/was.
September 1, 20223 yr On his way to Brighton, great place to learn and since he is not being loaned he should get some game time:
September 1, 20223 yr What a ridiculous decision, we're desperate or midfielders so we sell one who has the exact attributes we need.

Obviously those are important points but ultimately it depends on the managers vision for the style of play. If he doesn’t feel Gilmour fits that it’s not going to matter how he trains. I just can’t believe he’s never even tried to use him when our midfield is playing sh*te. Not to mention they’re already barebones and we’re still looking to sell? Anyway it looks like he’s off to Brighton if the reports are to believed. To say I'm not happy would be an understatement. Hope this isn’t another KDB.

I guess Billy has not shown that in training ... Tuchel hasn't exactly been shy in fielding academy graduates in our first team ... he had six of them on the pitch the other day 🙂
September 1, 20223 yr I'm not his biggest fan but £9m is disgracefully low, I expected double that. Not to mention we're struggling for CMs at the moment so if we don't have one come in it's an even worse deal.
September 1, 20223 yr Hopefully we include a buy back clause because he will definitely become a baller at Brighton . I honestly dont get Tuchel sometimes. It wont surprise me if this turns into another Mourinho selling KDB situation.
September 1, 20223 yr Out of all the sales we’ve made this is the one that’s going to hurt us at some point. I really hope there’s a high sell on fee as a consolation
September 1, 20223 yr I dunno. Apart from a few moments against Liverpool years ago, I've not seen much from him to indicate he's going to be a top player. Price is very low though, if 9m is correct. Especially since we just gave Brighton 60-odd million.

Given our current midfield issues this one is a headscratcher. Then again if Tuchel was going to use him you would have thought Tuesday's game was the perfect opportunity.
September 1, 20223 yr 9Mil What A f**king Farce, Tuchel Goes On About Not Having Midfielders, Yet He's Happy To Let Go Of Midfielders, Absolute Madness
September 1, 20223 yr Stupid call. If we'd got him a loan to Brighton (or a similar team) last year we could be reasonably turning down offers quadrupling that pathetic fee right now. £9m's absolutely pitiful.
September 1, 20223 yr The fee is low But the lad is far closer to Mceachran mark 2 than KDB. He's too light weight and hasn't shown anything since the week he performed against Liverpool and Everton.
September 1, 20223 yr It’s really funny. Gilmour hasn’t kicked a ball for us for around 18 months and yet people are acting like he’s going to be the messiah and solve our midfield problems all on his own. He had a few decent performances for us under Lamps, and when he did feature under Tuchel it felt like the game was passing him by far too easily. He’s clearly not in Tuchel’s plans so why should we stand in the way of him leaving? He’s had a full preseason and a few friendly appearances and still obviously not done enough to impress TT and force his way into the team. To be honest can’t say I’ll be losing any sleep over this one.
