Declan Rice (sorry Declan) rates only a 3/10 on my beauty scale too. (Just to bring it all back on topic). You don't need to donate in order to have a discussion.

September 19, 20205 yr There is no clique. Long term forum members know most others are idiots or drunk or on pills or all three. Newer members are at least as bad, usually worse because particularly if younger, they generally assume everyone else is just dying to hear their latest expert opinion and then their feelings get hurt when it isn’t received with the anticipated adulation.

I don't think we've had any engagement on the forum previously, but if anything it's you who is coming across this way on the forum at the moment. The name calling coming from the other direction is pretty petty, but the outright swearing and lunacy coming from yourself is even worse. Take it to PMs both. At least Ashwin is responding in a decent manner despite his misgivings regarding driller's posts. Don't stop the arguing some of these comments are hilarious. I love a good back and forth with imaginative name calling and witty comebacks 😂
September 20, 20205 yr His passing percentage last two games 70 and 72%. Doesn't look like a difference maker in defense either. First Arsenal goal was a breakthrough and you see 3 West Ham players watching the ball and going to the near post while Rice is watching them doing it instead of marking Lacazette, he was jogging to see the best view of the goal. September 20, 20205 yr Jorginho is simply a better player, we don't need Rice at all, the more I watch him the more I'm convinced about it. Here we have Rice not being able to influence the first two games and then we look at Jorginho that was a key player in our first game and first win.

Playing devils advocate , how do you think Jorginho would do in a West Ham team especially with his lack of pace? He simply wouldn't be on the ball enough to affect play and would be required to do far more without the ball. Rice undoubtedly has flaws in his game though being only 21 those should be gradually ironed out and playing alongside better players should improve him.

September 20, 20205 yr I have watched these two West Ham games and for sure he haven't looked anything special. I think he should be in a more mobile side. Not sure if you can look good sitting deep in that stale side. Not trying to make excuses for him but not sure if his WHU performances so far isn't the whole story.
September 20, 20205 yr He aint worth 80million, the player we should of bought was James Rodriguez, what a player, but we knew that..

I don't really know but hypothetically West Ham would be happy to have him. I understand that Rice is young but we already invested in some of our younger players to be in the starting lineup and as he is currently he doesn't start over Kovacic, Jorginho nor Kante. We have Gilmour as well that will most likely get another chance once he comes back from injury... So what's the point of buying Rice now, just to keep him on the bench? We sent Ampadu on loan, would we send Rice as well or Gilmour? Sure it's a good investment for the future but we would be already paying at least 50m which isn't good business since he simply isn't showing that price tag even if he is playing in a weak team he simply doesn't stand out at all. For a similar amount of money we could buy Sandro Tonali and he would be capable of fighting for the place in the starting lineup already. Edited September 20, 20205 yr by Gol15

I was a lurker for about 2 years on here because I could see that exact situation playing out. Some of the regular posters are amazing but they tend to side with idiots like dkw even when he’s being a complete ball bag with a new poster for no reason like it’s impressive. Guess that’s what forum ££ contributions buys you. Another I noticed recently was Val or Valerie ? I’ve read untold amounts of comments of her saying Cudicini was sexy, hazard etc to the point it was actually a bit sad and then she had a strop when someone said Marina Granovskia was hot and accused them of sexism and degrading woman by sexualising her hahaha! Bit of jealousy I think. *** waiting for dkw’s sarcastic clever comment About my username *** Sigh. There's a huge difference between sexualizing a man and a woman given the power dynamic. In a completely male dominated world (still), women have been and continue to be perceived as sexulaized objects to pander to a male demographic. Movies, advertisements, comics, etc. When there's a successful confident woman who is in the limelight, how often is she not sexualized? And how often is appearance used to put down a woman's achievements? And how often does this happen with a man? Perhaps if you bother to understand the history of this power dynamic, you will see how the two are fundamentally different. Go an read the comments under any video of a male football superstar and a female superstar for example. Anyway, this is not the place for this discussion although I felt the comment could do with a response. Watched the game yesterday and felt Rice was pretty good. And it's hard to see how he would do in a team with much better players. So will defer to Frank's and the board's judgement here 🙂 Don't care too much either ways because it looks like we have a great squad already.

Are you sure you have not just come back from a 10-year cruise? The movies, advertisement, comics, television etc are exactly the opposite of what you saying. They are the biggest defenders of the women since the last are now working and busy to defend themselves in the annoying way they had been doing before that. Not only the successful women are not being sexualized they intentionally try hard to look at least woman-ish as possible. Thus being said the sarcastic arrogant female member of the forum is a pure sexist with sexist comments.
September 20, 20205 yr I honestly dont think he is the profile of player we need in midfield. If we are going to go big for another midfield player, i would want milinkovic savic. We need someone physical, but with serious ability on the ball.

Agree SMS would make a great signing, but sadly I cant see it happening tbh.
September 21, 20205 yr If we decide we are not going to buy anyone for that DM spot I feel we might be a bit light there considering Kante can't play every match. Only James is the type of player that can play that game. Jorginho, Gilmour and Kovacic are not for that role IMO.

The more i think about it, the more i change my mind. With how much threat and pace we have in attack now, i think the perfect signing would actually be Ruben Neves. He has leadership, he is a solid playmaker, decent enough defensively, and his range of passing, and vision, combining with Werner and Pulisic would be a deadly combination.
September 23, 20205 yr I think Declan Rice will be fine. Kante is a problem though, he’s the worlds best at work rate and getting the ball back, but when he attacks he’s really not that great. I would have liked to see him as the holding midfielder but it seems like Lampard want to play him as box to box midfielder, especially with the interest in Rice. Perhaps Lampard wants to play two defensive midfielders like the game against Brighton but then where does that leave Kovacic?
September 23, 20205 yr According to Fabritzio Romano we are going for him. It depends on the outgoings how much h we are ready to table of him. Personally 40-45m is maximum.

Hopefully there is a plan B, C and D as Chelsea needs a defensive midfielder. Perhaps they need to sell off some dead weight first. Not much time left before the October 5 transfer window closes.
