We should be all over that, even if its just to see some of our more erm....emotional fans reaction when we sign an Englishman and not the latest shiney spanish/italian/german striker they love.

Have you seen his injury record?

It's a matter of time before he breaks down and he's approaching the age where injuries really start to make your career go downhill.

He’s honestly pretty thick. He has a horror injury record and just been offered a generous 4 year contract. And he turned it down… No one will want him. Can’t justify spending big money on a player with a bad injury record.

Ruud van Nistlerooy had torn his ACL just before signing for Manchester United.

After missing a year of football he went on to score 150 goals in 220 appearances for them.

Ings won't be short of takers should he become available.

That’s not a very good comparison, Nistelrooy was young when he signed. Around 23 or 24, Danny Ings is 28 now and he’ll be 29 this month.

As we all know, the injuries get more frequent as they age. He’s already had a lot of injuries, imagine what it’d be like at 30.

And Ings has a history of injuries. After making a name for himself at Burnley with Sam Vokes he then Missed a large part of his time with them due to injury. Made of glass. He should be biting their hands off and return some loyalty to those that have been loyal to him.

Two ways to look at that though.

1. Show loyalty and stick with Southampton and pick up a very decent wage and remain in a mid table club with little chance of silverware. Certainly would be the easy option.

2. Believe in yourself, show ambition, join a top club (maybe lower wage) and increase your chance of silverware/ international recognition. I’m sure he is well aware of his injury history and to let his contract run down risks many millions personnel wealth.

When he’s on it he’s a very dangerous player but I’m also concerned about his injuries history and would prefer a better option if available.

Might be possible to buy Lorenzo Insigne cheap this summer. 1 year left on contract and Napoli are struggling to give him the wages he wants because of Covid.

Great player but not right for us, also.. Insigne literally sacked his agent (Mina Raiola) because he didn’t want to leave Napoli. He’s like a god in Naples and at the time Raiola found a club who wanted to double his wages but he turned it down. Safe to assume Napoli will find a solution with him.

He’s a bloody good player but look at the Italians in Premier league, it’s actually pretty rare you get a successful one. Zola, Jorginho (Some probably will disagree), I can’t even think of any more successful Italians in premier league? There were so many failures, Aquilani one of them.

It’s really sad what happened to Spinazzola but I’m actually glad we’re not signing him now. I don’t trust Italian players to do well in premier league.

Perhaps Griezmann will be an option.

Barcelona are in a desperate situation and need to lower their wage bill by 40% (About 200 million euros) and are apparantly prepared to let Griezmann go for a symbolic amount.

Italians, much like the English, don't really venture outside of their home nation to play their football. Especially their best players.

In the entire history of the Premier League there have been 75 Italians to have made an appearance, compared to 216 French, 151 Spanish players or 137 Dutch for example.

Signing Ings just stinks of short term. Also his injury record it's a big gamble. Rather just keep Abraham and play him.

Think the club and possibly TT agrees with you.

Summer windows where the likes of Batman, Baka, Drinkwater, Zappa etc coming in her burnt the club. Losses on poor players because we settled for fall back options.

Am thinking the club have tried for top options, maybe the likes of Lukaku, Haaland, Rice etc and been rebuffed and are not willing to settle for second best hopefuls.

Probably why we made no effort to sign an unknown quantity like Patson Daka.

Could be we told TT if we cannot add top quality we wont add at all and use the squad you have.

If we play Tammy, the Champions League Winners will be playing a striker that has a habit of tripping over his own feet, and missing some sitters.

Aesthetically he looks more like a player for the old Wimbledon.

I can understand not wanting to take a risk on Ings with his injury record yet Tammy is not the answer.

We would be better to take a risk on one of the strikers on display in the Euros, like Schick for example.

Funnily enough he has also played with Werner before.

Danny ings is very good but he is 29 with long list of injury history hence he is better of as a backup for your main striker.

You will only do this move is you think you have a monster st and need a backup. It looks like a lot people here think that Werner is wc, if that is your opinion then this move is a good idea
