Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Not really, we all loved Mata during the worst quality spell of the Roman era but Kevin De Bruyne & Salah are generational talents.

I hate the use of 'generational' but they're top tier.

The reason I initially mentioned Mata was essentially because our transfer failings over the last decade have underpinned Man City's success. Aguero, Silva, and KDB should all have been here.

I was alluding to the fact we had Hazard, Salah, De Bruyne, and little ol’Mata in the same team.  I would say that was a transfer success.  Too bad Jose didn’t see the talent and my blind loyalty at the time thought he knew best.  That then turned into a transfer failure pretty quickly.

The rumours are that Lukaku is trying to push a loan deal through - £20m loan fee with a £70m obligation to buy clause. Think we’d all that take - but I can’t see Inter taking that deal.

Not in pounds mate, those rumored figures are in euros, which may help.

I can see us going for that IF Rom agrees to drop his wages so we don't have to pay him 50% to go there.

Everyone knew this was a bad idea. Whoever was involved in his transfer should be held accountable including Tuchel if he didn't fight enough and gave the green light.  Scouts are not only supposed to evaluate skillset but also team cohesion, mindset, etc. Something Lukaku never showed he had.

As well as agreeing to a £6.3million salary with the Nerazzurri which would mean a £3.9m reduction in what Lukaku has been earning at Chelsea this season (£10.2m), his new agents have been given an ultimatum of 15 days to close this transfer operation as the Blues look for a swift solution to this issue.

It still doesn't make sense how he finish as our top scorer. 15 goals in all competitions. Not bad considering he had a horrendous decision.

Tuchel has a decision to make. Does he really want Lukaku or not? If not, get rid of him. If inter are actually willing to shell out the money then take it I think. We were lumbered with Sheva for a few years.

IIt does make sense because he is the most notorious flat track bully in existence. Look who he scored against.

Arsenal

Villa

Brighton

Leeds

Wolves

Chesterfield

Plymouth

Boro

Palmeiras

Al-Hilal SFC

Malmo

Zenit

2 goals against the Top half of the table.

I’d be happy with that if he looked like he was bothered. We need some flat track bullies in the team as that’s where we struggled.

He’s obviously not happy here. We’re not massaging his ego enough. Get rid.

100m for a flat track bully only?

Sorry. No thanks.

Hopefully true. We could do with a shift and decisive end to his time here.

Im not into this loan deal, we need him off our books, surely there is a deal to be done including players with Inter?

Bastoni and Martinez for Lukaku, with us giving them money too,  would surely be the deal, considering Inter are willing to lose both, and have Dybala lined up as a replacement.

Only one goal scored against the top 8 in EPL.

At the very least, I expected him to be a flat track bully against weaker Premier League teams, but he didn't even manage that. He took flat track bully to a new low by scoring against Championship and National League teams, also got a few against the worst team we faced in the Champions League and Al-Hilal in the CWC, a team most people have never heard of.

I'd take a swap deal with Bayern for Ledwndoski and Ganerbry. I'm happy for him to go, but definitely lose the little respect I have left for him. Such a babycat move, when things aren't going well, just run away.

Personally I will be happy if we get shot of him permanently. Whether that is a straight sale or a loan with buy obligation.  So long as he is gone.

Latest update:

Romelu has agreed terms with Inter as many know, now he has to convince Chelsea to let him go on loan. Chelsea putting Lukaku in the shop window and Bayern have sniffed around, yet nothing concrete probably depends on Lewandowski deal and they prioritise Mané.

Lukaku is trying to convince Chelsea that the best way to protect their asset is to have him go on loan and play well in Italy ensuring a likely sale even if its not from Inter.

The context that some are forgetting is Lukaku was open to stay, but needed assurances about playing time with world cup coming up later on this year. Players cannot afford to not play if they have aspirations to be a regular for their country.

Moving away from the updates here's an interesting scenario, so Romelu spoke in the interview about leaving Inter for one of the big three (traditionally Bayern, Barca and the pinnacle for a lot of players Real). Let's say Bayern and Inter compete for his signature then who does he choose? Since he said he loves Inter so much yet Bayern would be one of the bigger teams he says he wanted to join rather than us.

What a dumb thing to do to come back to Chelsea. If he wanted to stay at Inter, why didn't he take a pay cut or something. Makes zero sense why he would return. Just a massive waste of money. This club just throws money away.

To be honest knowing Jose, if we DID have David Silva instead of Mata he probably would have sold him too.

Hit the f**king nail on the head. Jose liked the "hard working" but offensively woeful players like Oscar and Willian. I just wonder how he didn't end up selling Hazard as well.
