The two things Kova needed to add to his game IMO is consistency and more attacking end product. He has started to do that this season. His yard-stick though is Kante. I think Kante sometimes doesn't get the props he deserves because his performance level, in literally every game, is superb. As it was today. People just come to expect it, they take it for granted, because his consistency and contribution all over the pitch is absolutely unreal.

Kova has completely won me round from his first season Scott. But Kante walks into any midfield in the world and I don't think Kova is at that level......... Yet!

Fair points. I think Kova would walk into any midfield in the PL bar city’s but would get a decent amount of playing time there. Klopp would have him as a starter without a second’s thought (his own comments re kova confirm this) but admittedly their midfield really isn’t their strength.

We also had it early in the season. It's easy when you ride the momentum of winning, equally as difficult when you're in the momentum of losing.

That's why Pep doesn't really care how they win, 80% good football system,  20% bombarding the goal with shots. xGs be damned.

Yeah. We really need to see someone daring enough to upset them like Watford did to liverpool (2 seasons back?)

Micheal Owen think Pool is better than us after we dominate them over two games and should have won both..a twat!

He says this after every game where Liverpool don't win. Liverpool are better than everybody apparently and only City can match them.

Agreed. He used to show flashes of what he could bring to the team giving you a sense of the player he might be but they were too infrequent and he would go missing for too many chucks of games.  He is undoubtedly much improved and easily  merits being picked alongside Kante on current form.

I don't know why he's so loyal to Liverpool ... I thought the average LFC fan considered Owen a bit of a twat ? And for sure he would have lost loads of respect in turning out for Man United ?

According to Carjacker, it wasn't a red because it was a forearm smash  not the point of his elbow. Here's the link to where it says that in the laws of the game:

Jimmy Putting the spitty d**khead in his place.

Have watched the Pulisic goal back again over and over, love the passion, the technique. I know Kova was the main man tonight but that moment was incredible. Just wish we could have got another orgasm out of Gary.

At 0-2 looked a steep hill. We did well to dig ourselves out. Every single player put a shift in and it reminded me of the earlier game at Anfield the solidarity throughout this squad is strong regardless of the Lukaku situation.

You can see TT has players out there that will go to war for him which is something that we can't just underplay. TT helped a lot of them realise their life long dream of winning the UCL.

Today was a prime example of why we should stick with Pulisic, he's by no means the finished article. But you take a glance across the field and see Mane and Salah that's what he can become with patience it was about this age 23 we ditched Salah.

Thought Kai did a good job considering he barely got a clear cut chance, when he did he should have shot rather than cutting back. He does a lot of ugly work which some do give him credit for, not just constant runs but the hold up play to bring others in to play when he's isolated in their half.

Kovacic motm and you can really see why we missed him. At a glance you look at this squad and you could say we were very unlucky to be 10 points behind after the halfway point but it's up to us to continue to improve throughout the season and try to rain on City's parade come the end of the season be that gate keeping them from a ucl win again or hunting them til the end of the season.

Yes. The Scousers hate him. Not as much as the Geordies, but maybe on a par with the Mancs. And hated by fans of all the clubs he didn't play for

It takes a special kind of twat to be universally despised.

Fine margins again, displayed perfectly in a half of football.

We know Mane should be off but that is just the latest ref master class against us. I mean mistakes being or not being punished.

We asked before the game for some luck, we got it when we closed down TAA and the ball fell beautifully to CP. How does thar ball end up in the keepers arm without a shot?

Did he have too much time? No he had as much time as he did for his goal.

Does he not have the ability? Again no look at his goal that is a superb hit.

So why then when TAA messed up do we look the gift horse in the mouth yet when trev messed up Mane says thank you very much?

Or how about when Toni and Alonso allow Salah all the time in the world? Again mistake punished.

Our goals were not Pool mistakes, one was a thunderbolt the other a good team move and cracking finish. We don't punish sides for making mistakes and then United, Burnely, Brighton, Everton and now Pool have taken a point from us at the Bridge because we wasted golden chances and gave them cheap goals.

If we want to compete with City while Pep is there we have to cut that sh*t out.

I know that my comments about Christian Pulisic are likely discounted immediately because I am from L.A., but I was a Chelsea fan BEFORE I came. Sure, there are questions as to whether or not he will return to his form of 2 years ago - which was thrilling no matter your prejudices - but discounting his future would be a big mistake, IMHO.

I wonder how much this score prediction would have yielded me at 0-2 😂

what if you would have put 2-2 as half time score around the 39th minute mark :connie_oldman_cleanglasses:

man we were fighting after all the sh*t has been pouring down on us. Cheers!

For me that was excellent from us today. It certainly put to bed the doubts aired by many the there could be a major issue in the dressing room for TT ... exactly the opposite judging by that display.

Lukaku is walking a fine line I think, and if Roman supports TT that line will be razor thin.

If he doesn't apologise unreservedly his top tier career could be in jeopardy.

I am pleased for the manager that the team apparently played their hearts out for him today, it's a good day for club vs player power.

However the main point here is that if you're picking two from three out of Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic then, for me, Jorginho is the odd one out. Especially in big high pressure games.

....all day long.

You are a failure and i hope you will not continue to fail in your life. Even if Man City are richer than us, we also have players, even if they have players, we also have players.

I think last season, is it not three times we won them. You should think of that too.

Hezbollah a quick look at your post history and I see you clearly are a bellend. Tuchel out, slagging off our players at every opportunity. Ignore list and good luck degenerate.
