Potter or Poch.

I'd take Potter all day long. He has done more than enough to merit a shot with a CL club and has shown consistently that he gets a team organised, playing as a team and finding a good balance between defending and attacking. And doesn't strike me as someone who sticks to something that isn't working.

Not many people would choose Ziyech and Pulisic over Werner and CHO. I'm not sure we even did .. I just think there are zero takers for the two we've still got ...

But hard to put it all on those two when it was pretty inept all round, with perhaps a couple of exceptions.

What now ?

I still think the midfield is the biggest problem ...

No one who knows anything about football has ever thought Pulisic or Ziyech was half the player Werner is.

Timo was sold because he was the only one of the 3 anyone actually wanted but as I said at the time when people were fairly happy to see him leave it actually makes the squad a lot weaker unless we bring in another wide player and we didn't.

I'm not singling out Puli or Ziyech they both did nothing positive at all as usual but they were no different to anyone else.

The problem we have is we have absolutely no goals or game changers on the bench, Where's the player that will inject some impetus or get us back in a game were we're struggling? The Giroud? The Anelka? The Kalou? The Demba Ba?  It's incredibly difficult for Tuchel to attempt to change a game that we're struggling in when we have no one to bring on who offers any kind of goal threat.

It sounds strange since we just came back against West Ham but generally once we go behind we're done.

I dont think there was a worse player on the pitch than Ziyech.. we might aswell have played with 10 would have more chances..

I dont think i have seen a worse managerial performance in recent history.. maybe AVB.. The manager has completely lost it... your team needs a win some momentum and you try your experiments.. here here examples of his masterclass today

  • playing mount in a pivot when he hasnt done that in 2 years
  • Start with a clearly unfit Auba.
  • Start with Azpi ahead of Chalobah
  • When you are chasing a game you bring on Ziyech but instead of a back 4 you move your biggest weapon to CB.
  • Then you play ziyech on the left when he clearly cant
  • bring on pulisic and play him on the right when he clearly cant
  • Bring on CC to maintain 3 at the back when you have Gallagher and RLC on the bench

Is he honestly trying to get himself sacked..  another 2-3 of these he might as well.. TT's system has completely killed our attacking threat.. they play with zero confidence we havent scored in the opposition's ground in the second half all season...

We really do play some of the most turgid boring football I’ve seen in many years. We played far better football under Sarri and he got criticised constantly. If Roman was still at the club I’d be fearing for Tuchels future. He seems to have lost the dressing room.

I am not sure that they were better. Like all teams they are just fitter than us. It is so simple for me. We have no tempo, no pace, always on the back foot, always offside. That to me is basic fitness because it starts in the brain.

I maintain what I have said before. Bomb off the sh*t back room, the fitness people. He's got more backroom than fking players. Get a proper fitness coach in and work the bollocks off this rabble. Clearly they have not done enough in pre season and we are still not season ready. He has already conceded this.

No mate, they were better, Croats always could and can play, as I said earlier, the Balkan countries produce the most technical and creative players outside Brazil n Argentina, besides that we were f**king drab as a wet flannel…

Potter has also dealt with some challenging patches while in charge of Brighton, and found a way past them. I think that is also an important quality.

Potter all day long. This club would never employ Potter though . Chelsea don't employ Graham's, they go for Antonio's, Carlo's, Jose's. We only go for the glamour names.

A studious manager the creates teams, that improves players and that offers entertaining,  enjoyable football to watch. At Chelsea? No bl00dy chance.

Been to every game bar this one, this season and apart from most of the spurs game we have been very poor and we were very lucky against west ham and Leicester.

We are far too slow , lacking any other ideas apart from get it out to the wing backs and hope a decent cross comes in. No plan B.

We are so easy to defend against because we are so slow in our build up. They get behind the ball and wait for us to give it away. We look poor every where,  I just hope the team needs time to gel . But again out faught  every where on the pitch  we are so light weight , and have we over paid for every player we have bought I think so.

We are getting killed by teams who park the bus and counter.

Potter got virtually no experience against that type of football. Potter would be a major risk.

Kepa - 6 - Not as sh*te as the rest and made a good save.

James - 4 - sh*te against any team that sits back and defends. Has physcial presence, but doesn't use it and doesn't have the pace to run past full backs that sit deep.

Fofana - 4 - Out paced and beaten for strength for their goal.

Koulibaly - 3 - If this guy is going to be taking Silva's spot next season, then we are f**ked. Washed up and has no agility, turns like a tank and has the reaction speed of a snail.

Azpilicueta - 4 - Barely noticed him on the pitch, I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.

Chilwell - 5 - Barely got him involved in the first half, didn't even try and spot his runs in behind the defence.

Kovacic - 5 - Carried the ball well, but looked hopeless once he got into attacking areas.

Mount - 3 - sh*te again.

Havertz - 2 - Worst player on the pitch after Ziyech. Constantly running into players, taking too many touches. Boring footballer to watch.

Sterling - 3 - Sterling's strength is his movement and we want him to dribble past defences and play intricate touch play football. He will go down as another expensive flop if that is how we want to use him.

Aubameyang - 4 - Tell him to shoot. He also needs to get used to having no service at this club, they don't have a creative bit of football in them.

Subs

Broja - 5 - What chance does he have of making it at Chelsea when not a single player in the team can find him?

Ziyech - 2 - One of the worst performances off the bench since Bakayoko. The only reason why I didn't give him a 1 is because unlike the rest, he was at least trying to make things happen.

Jorginho - 3 - Pointless sub, can't do anything but sideways passes.

Pulisic - 2 - Dogsh*t, couldn't even control a football

Cucurella - 3 - Headless chicken.

I agree on most. IMO Havertz was decent on the first half. The second was awfull from him as well. Mount has been awfull the whole season. Should have been taken off. Leave him out of the team for a couple of matches.

Its a shame Ziyech is getting so much abuse even though he was played out of position!

12 dribbles v 8 according to the uefa game stats. For a team that is supposed to be technically worse than us, I think that difference is significant. I agree though that they were fitter, or wanted it more. The instant we had more than one touch, or a bad touch, they were all over the player. But, I don’t think is as simple as fitness. We hardly run, in the first half every body was ball watching, as if they were in training. I’m not sure if they’ve stopped playing for the coach. I don’t see much solution tbh.

I really didn't think nor want to about TT. leaving but as the weeks go by and the hundreds of millions spent, that decision is getting very close . The team seems to be going backwards, and as for his selections, the mind boggles.

Don’t blame the team, f**king blame Tuchel, he really is inept at changing stuff up, I yearn passionately for Carlos footie+ Contes will to win!

Blame the whole club. We have built up this culture of giving the players an excuse by shifting the blame onto the coach.

We have had the best coaches in football at this club for 20 years now, how the f**k can this happen to every one of them every single time? Even if we had Klopp and Guardiola, the same sh*t would happen. There isn't a chance in hell that Klopp would have gotten 3 years to turn this club around like he did at Liverpool. Guardiola would have been sacked after his first season at the club because he would never have gotten the funds to rebuild like he did at City.

Our club is poison. It's a few months of highs that paper over the cracks before the same sh*t starts happening all over again.

Did you not see the first 15-20 minutes when he was occupying the right side ? then basic stuff like catching the ball before going out.. hitting the first man on the corners.  i feel sorry for him but i think i will struggle to find another 45 mins from a top 6 side who has played worse.. his attemped volley.. the number of underhit or over hit passes.. his free kicks.. there is no defense.. rate him a 1 on 10 for that performance.

Apologies I wasn't clear in my post. On the night they were massively better than us. My point was that the Zagreb team itself is not a better team than our team. The way our players are playing  the fitness levels, I am yet to see a worse team than us when we have played anyone this season. Even Everton,  I thought, were a better team than us on the day

These results are inexcusable.  And the manner of the performances is unacceptable.  I'm running out of patience with Tuchel - unable to effectively coach a team to win games these days.  This is not new - this pattern has been evident since April, perhaps back to Nov 2021.  Our win % is 40% - that stat does not lie.

All this just shows is that last season wasn't Lukakus fault. Halaand would struggle to get double digit goals in this TUCHEL coached Cheslea

our attackers have scored 4 goals in 7 matches this season.. tells you all about this "System".. he has sucked the life out of our attacking players.. why would anyone want to come to this.. for the first time this window we had so many players not wanting to come to Chelsea.. tells you a lot..

Hard to argue against any of those observations.

We should park the bus , it's worked before, but we'll probability f**k that up as well
