April 17, 20233 yr Notice how its gone from needs champions league, to Europe football, now doesn't want Euro footy and is happy to move to cfc.... The guy can't secure a move to any other club and is using us as a last resort option. I never want to see this muppet in a Chelsea shirt again. He's only good for wiping Torres boots as Torres did occasionally find the net and when he wasn't doing that, tried and when he didnt do that he'd keep the grass short by running on it down the wings... I'd hire Diego Simone as manager to stop this transfer happening. a
April 18, 20233 yr I like Felix, but I think we've had enough luxury players here to last a lifetime, especially with the transfer fee. You just know we would sign him and he would end up never rediscovering this gaping potential he can unlock. How many times have we had that recently? Havertz, Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner, etc. They've at some point shown glimpses of quality, but you don't regularly get it, they can't kick out stupid habits, and eventually, they just seem to stop caring. I can only see Joao Felix being another example of that and never progressing. Maybe the recent batch of players we've had post-Hazard have given me PTSD, but if we don't sign Felix, I think I'm perfectly okay with that. Edited April 18, 20233 yr by Victor90
April 18, 20233 yr Apparently Ateltico is having a great run after offloading Felix, so maybe Simeone had a point. I would pick Sterling and Murdyk to start over Felix tomorrow. One has raw pace to trouble defence, the other had a good scoring record in CL. Neither are perfect, but a better bet than Felix just IMO
April 18, 20233 yr Really summed him up when he controlled the ball perfectly, beat his man, drove forward, and then gave the simple pass away. All flash, no end product.

April 18, 20233 yr I can't even think of a price I'd pay. £10 & £50 a week maybe. In Boehly speak that's £75m and £250k a week.
April 18, 20233 yr Well that's that. Unless we have some foolish (and possibly mythical) contractual obligation he shouldn't see another minute in a Chelsea shirt. The season is completely over from a competitive perspective and everything we do from now until May in the league should be in service of next season. Félix should therefore really play no part in it, because we have no reason whatsoever to sign him permanently. Best of luck to him in the future.

April 19, 20233 yr I'm going to sound like a broken record but what a waste of a squad spot. I'd genuinely rather have had Auba in the CL squad to come on over Felix.

He is probably the worst player in the squad when we don't have the ball, that's bad enough, but he's also the player most likely to give the ball away that leads to our opponents scoring.
April 19, 20233 yr Felix after the game in the Real Madrid changing room in good spirits having a laugh. Absolute lost for words on this, absolute disgrace of a mentality.

April 19, 20233 yr It's disgraceful indeed. He should be rubbing gravel into his hair and pounding the floor in tragic misery. He should have both hands raised to the heavens as if this defeat is a personal insult from the fates themselves.

Who's laughing? I just see him chatting to somebody he probably knows. He doesn't even belong to us, and possibly never will. I do not think he's the player we need going forward, but this seems like a trivial thing to be offended about.

Just so we know he means it.

He's catching up with a colleague or perhaps even a friend. Perhaps others took the opportunity to catch up with Hazard, Rüdiger or even Courtois. I see no harm in footballers finding their friends among their opponents after a match. The supporters are more tribal than the footballers.
April 19, 20233 yr I don’t think we can judge a player in the current slump at all, other than Kante, Kepa and Silva (maybe also Enzo) every player has gone to sh*t in some way. That said though, he should return back home in May, we just have too many players and another few due to come in. Plus he needs a haircut badly!
April 19, 20233 yr Here's a rather sad soundbite ... Felix (as disappointing as he has been) is the only player signed in the January window who has even scored a goal for us ....

Everything we are seeing from Felix were problems that were already there before he joined us though so it's nothing to do with us being bad.

Yea that was my point. I still think we should return to sender though, purely because of squad depth and we’ve lost enough money as it is. I think he is easily replaceable with what we own, that is, if this team ever gets playing again!
April 19, 20233 yr I'm trying to think of any scenarios where I would pick Sterling, Ziyech or Pulisic ahead of him. Nope, can't think of any.
