I'm seriously concerned about the amount of money being spent of late, it's like nothing I have seen at any other club and I don't see how this is sustainable. It's not like we are even doing anything to recoup the money spent. This is more than Barcelona's spending that landed them in the sh*t they are in now. I don't think the plan is to spend at this level every year, well I hope not. I think it's more go big now and then draw back the spending once we have a competitive team, not too dissimilar to what Roman did at the start funnily enough.

But you know what the big difference is? Roman hired the biggest winner and the best coach in football to go along with all those signings. We have hired a manager that is entirely unproven (certainly compared to Mourinho) and are supporting him massively and are about to use up our entire investment budget just on him. And currently that manager is failing hard, what happens if he continues to fail is my question? And by fail I mean failing to have us challenging for the title from next season onwards the way we are supporting him and I don't think Potter will ever have us challenging for a title.

Possibly not, but if/when it gets to that point when it's becoming very obvious he can't challenge then (hopefully) we can go out and get the best avaliable "winner". If there's one thing Potter has proven is that he can build teams, all be it at a lower level.
January 15, 20233 yr It’s very odd how the club are showing video clips, saying to follow him - while the medical still needs to be done. Even Shakntar are doing it. Never seen that before.

A lot of money yes, but at his age his overall stats can be misleading if you consider a lot of those appearances would have been sub cameos as a teenager learning the game. Look at 18 year old Ronaldo when he joined Utd in his first 3 seasons he scored 4, 5, and 9 goals in 95 appearances and I reckon there’s not many sub cameos in there either. Pretty standard for a young player I reckon but his numbers exploded in a break out season. This year Mudryk has 10 goals in 18 matches which I’m hoping is the start of his break out season.

Yep, it's just how it is now, look at Endrick as another example and he's played even less. Had James came through at a 'selling' club he'd be commanding around £100m.
January 15, 20233 yr Crazy development in the transfer market. Todd and co are all going in with their transfer investments. I just hope it doesn't blow up in our faces.

Yep a different approach, I'm happier if we are buying quality and also in positions where it is needed.
January 15, 20233 yr If he’s got the same impact that Felix had in his first game, I’m over the moon. Sine Hazard left, I hadn’t seen one of our players trying to win it by themselves by making things happen. If we had two wingers like That, plus a quality midfielder, I’d be quite optimistic for the future.

That's elite if all goes to plan (big if ofcourse).
January 15, 20233 yr Looking at that photo (if it’s real), I’m wondering if we’ve signed him or kidnapped him. He doesn’t look very happy.
