May 4, 20233 yr Chelsea inserted a buy back clause for Tammy Abraham which can be activated at the end of this season. It's in the region of 65m. That was the figure cited at the time, there seem to be figures approaching 80m now being thrown around. I trust the 65m-ish figure. Though I doubt the value. His game hasn't developed in Italy under JM which is no surprise.

If you want to play possession oriented football, Abraham won't do much (though he'd obviously outscore every single current Chelsea player). More interested in quick counter-attack football? Then Tammy is a pretty good choice for £65m and could score 20+ goals in the league.
May 4, 20233 yr He's been dispossessed as many times as he has had shots on target in Serie A this season. Edited May 4, 20233 yr by Sconnie Blue

Have Lampard moved on sharpish. not even a coaching position. A reboot at a lower league is the order of the day in my opinion. 4. Get rid of the deadwood
May 6, 20233 yr One of the top young managers in the game. Saved Everton last year, and this year saved us. Big Sam is no longer the relegation specialist. Edited May 6, 20233 yr by ross91690
May 6, 20233 yr I thought his subs were all wrong but what do I know lol. disappointed he put azpi on instead of Hall, at 1-1 I think it would have been a better option.
May 6, 20233 yr Frank and the team needed that win, it became a joke with how much we were losing. Now for the love of good, start playing better and actually show something for the rest of the season please.
May 6, 20233 yr Who said Frank get teams relegated? Evidently false based on 1 win 😇 Seriously, happy for him not to have to explain after lose. Always a club legend, be a real shame if an interim manager cameo ruined that. Again, not his fault he's been in charge of this mess.

Why do you think he could score 20+ goals when he has shown no ability to do so the top level.

Spending 68m to bring him back would be crazy though
May 8, 20233 yr The mere suggestion we should sign a 25 year old striker who scored 9 goals in 47 appearances for the 7th best team in Italy this season drives me bonkers. Regardless of price. Put any other name on him and no ones discussing it. We need attackers who can score and a goalkeeper who can save shots from outside the box. Edited May 8, 20233 yr by bisright1

It seems to be this obsession. Harvey Barnes has scored 10 in the EPL. Not good enough for a top 4 aspiring team, but Abrahams for 65m is good value?

Here's a list of any player Id rather see lead the line than go into next season with the current attackers. Mason Mount gets a free pass from me because he's been brilliant for a number of seasons for us. Any one of the players on this list would do a better job than what we currently have interestingly, there are midfielders who have scored more goals than our strikers who are in relegation threatened teams. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers
May 8, 20233 yr Signing players who aren't good enough because they're better than someone else not good enough never has nor will be an acceptable reason to sign a player for free let alone a massive fee. If we applied that logic in 2020 when searching for a goalkeeper we may have ended up with the second coming of Ross Turnbull.

Lukaku and Auba were probably on that list every PL season of their career prior to joining us. Three times in two years we've burned by "proven goalscorers" and still there's people arguing the solution is just looking at the top line.
