May 29, 20233 yr For the first time in years we actually get a manager in at a very good time. He has the whole summer and pre season to get the squad to how he wants it. Next season can’t be any worse but I am optimistic. I think we’ll push for top 4 at the very least.
May 29, 20233 yr Aaaaaand breath. Relieved it’s actually done I’m a tiny bit optimistic about next season now!

All the players we have who fans class a deadwood have quality it’s just getting the price we want for them maybe the challenge.
May 29, 20233 yr My starting eleven for next season would be Emi Martinez Recce James Thiago Silva Badileshille Chilwell Enzo Ugarte Nkunku Madueke Lukaku Kane

And he’ll be very aware of who he wants to bring in and how he wasn’t us to play next season.
May 29, 20233 yr Given how badly things have gone so far I'm still wondering whether Pooch is maybe waiting for a better offer... everybody says he's coming why no announcement? Just seen the announcement 😁 Good luck Pooch - 2 year deal eh...

Would be a bit different to what Kane is used to, Son to Lukaku. Can see Lukaku back here but don’t think Kane would dream of here the way we are going. Levy I don’t would sell to us and I think Kane would be looking at better options for silverware. We are too much of a gamble for him atm and hopefully he’ll regret it. On Silva, I think maybe time to move on although he has been a fabulous player for us but he’s nearing 40 and playing in a back four would leave us open.

Didn't even think about that, the last time a new manager had a whole summer and a transfer window to himself was Sarri, it's definitely been a long time

I’m sure Boehly and chums will conspire to f**k up any progress that the new manger might attempt. Given we largely wasted 600 million this season, is there any chance we can actually spend another 300 plus million in an attempt to put some quality (both skill and mentality wise) into this squad? And with the muppets now ruining, sorry, running the club, is there any hope we can generate reasonable funds when offloading the tons of terrible signings and academy failures? I presume we’ll be viewed as a lame duck by other clubs in negotiations. And with Todd’s form to date, nobody will likely take us very seriously. Next season, better coach, similar sh*t.

Can't disagree really with what you have said at all really we could play Fofana instead of Silva as well and your probably right on Kane but I was just thinking of the Pochettino factor or instead of Lukaku you could go for Oshiemen or Watkins or Toney although he is banned until January they are proven Premier league players now and I think either of them would do well.
May 29, 20233 yr Excited and buzzing about things for the first time since last summer! Lots of work to do this summer but cant help but feel optimistic!
May 29, 20233 yr New season already off to a good start😇 Look forward to see him making a Dele out of Mudryk or Son out of Havertz.
May 30, 20233 yr It feels like just being sold a car and you can't drive it for a few months to see if it drives like a dream or she's an old banger! The apprehension! Welcome on P0ch! Don't tell Liam....

May 30, 20233 yr I think the club have done the required due diligence on this. It may not work out but its a reasonable and sensible appointment. Two years is the right length of time for a manager contract.
May 30, 20233 yr I can't say I'm not optimistic about Pochettino. I would have liked Enrique as my first choice, but i am interested in Pochettino and his coaching. We need a good preseason more than anything. I think a lot of this season has stemmed from a poor preparation. Not to mention key injuries throughout the season which isn't spoken about enough by the media. They speak about how poor we've been and rightly so, but much of that is also down to a inconsistent first 11 that needed rotation constantly due to injuries. Anyone saying we can't challenge for at least top four next season is dismissing the talent of the team and it's potential. Newcastle have a bang average team on paper and finished 4th ffs. Nobody gave them a chnace at top four before last season.

I mean, Potter was really handed everything on a plate and all he had to do was NOT be totally and absolutely sh1t and he would still have the job. IF he had "managed" to get his win percentage in the 40% range he would still be with us. Alas, he was unable to reach those dizzying heights. Pochettino has arrived and the mass clear out of players begins. Massive pre-season with lots of fitness training. With the young players and squad we currently have we should be able to realistically mange a top 6 next season.
