Didn't look happy did he?

No, and couldn't deal with simple questions. Is he a one trick pony who has found the step up too much or can he turn it around? I reckon the pressure might get to him and he'll be gone.

Just checked the score. Can someone confirm I’ve not lost my mind please?

Score is accurate.

You have still lost your mind though. You did some time ago.

Probably the best performance of the season, and glad we saved it for the Spurs. We just controlled almost all aspects of the game, didn't even give them many chances on the counter. Their insane high line defending obviously played into our hands, and unlike last time we made good use of them. Ideally, we'd be 3 up by HT given those chances, but they never looked like scoring. I'd be happy if the season ends tonight on a high, I'm sure we will suffer a couple of games in weeks to come. VAR didn't have a say in the result, but they absolutely tried on the first goal 🤫

Can't wait to see how that Spurs idiot " expressions oozing" reacts tonight.

Kept calling us " rent boys" on one of his videos a few years ago .

I find him entertaining, and someone I don't take too seriously.

I personally thought the Everton win and the FA cup game against Villa was better. The game against Arsenal earlier in the season and the two draws against City were better too. We defended well today, but I thought we were really poor on the attack. Everything kept breaking down when all it needed was one composed pass to break Tottenham's high line. It helped that Tottenham were terrible too, they should have scored from at least 3 chances today.

I thought that the game reflected very much the quality of both teams, not that good, even though I thoroughly enjoyed the game and beating them. A routine win against Spurs, as we appear to get 6 points from them almost every season no matter how bad we are. Great atmosphere too, as expected. I hope that we can replicate both, score and atmosphere on Sunday, but West Ham is a trickier team.

Not even close to one of worst

He must have forgotten the season before? Or 2015/16?

Anyway, we have displayed clear improvement as the season's progressed. While other members here would know more regarding why, it seems that Pochettino has them playing as a more cohesive unit.

Liverpool were in the same boat in 2015, and while Poch is no Klopp, he's a very good (not great) manager, and professional enough to oversee the game against his old club without looking like a traitor.

The only downside are the FFP ghosts. I can't see how points aren't declined from us right now, and that will discourage some players. The more ambitious ones won't want to stay outside of European football for long, even if Chelsea is a big name. The bright side of having a young team, is that young team grows old together and becomes more loyal to each other and the club. Career considerations become secondary for many of them.

I always get so nervous when we play that lot. I kicked and headed every ball during the game.😀

I know, I know at my age I should know better,but I don’t!😀😀

Anyway.

Always good to beat Spuds and especially good to keep a clean sheet.

The defence did its job. Cucurella and Chalobah both had very decent performances.

Caceido now showing he is a player and it looks like him and Gallagher have begun to develop an understanding.

One out worst in the PL era, in view of the level of investment and expectation. Regardless of on field performances, the atmosphere and rhetoric around the club has been the worst I have known for a number of years.

And certainly defensively its one of our poorest seasone with some of the unwanted records we've picked up.

In the cold light of the morning after, I thought it was a good solid performance,  once again from adopting a fluid, I game, 3 atb formation, overloading the forward areas and counter attacking.  That said Spurs were profligate in possession which fell into our hands. Furthermore as good as the result and overall performance was, we once again displayed an atrocious level of decision making in the final third on a number of occasions and our finishing was poor. Jackson squaring for Palmer is a nailed on goal, Palmer close to top bins, as was Madueke. Finally if that Romero sitter of a free header goes in, I suspect the momentum would have shifted and I could have easily seen us lose.

But we didn’t.  A double over Spurs is excellent and if we get a good result and performance against West Ham we could be in the mix. We've had so many false dawns this season though I think we just need to focus on improving our game as each match comes.

Look we still have a sh**load of improvement. More than half the first team was missing and despite that we have troubled every team in the league other than Arsenal and Liverpool.

This current squad is just about two players short of doing great things.

Even without anyone else if you want to assume Nkunku and Fofana get back to full fitness I reckon we'd be challenging. Add in Lavia and a fully fit Enzo ....

You could say we need a real rock centre back and another striker and it would be hard to argue  but, i'd be happy to go into next season with the same squad if they were all fit.

I both agree and disagree - it’s a unique set of circumstances.

defence has been poor but each defender has shown some promise at various times, I actually think we have some good young defenders

A final, a semi and outside side chance of reaching Europe, a few good victories along the way. Overall, I know I am in the minority, but I would have said that met my expectations
