January 6Jan 6 The second most underwhelming manager, sorry coach, since the last one. From shopping at Fortnum and Mason, to now going to Aldi for 6.5 years. He will probably get peeved after 18 months or so with operating within a system that winning is an option, not the only option. He will get frustrated with the lack of influence/control. I also really feel for Strasbourg. They have they same hopes and dreams as any club, as any fans, and they have been relegated to being foster parents essentially. WTF it must feel like to go to see them every week knowing that the club you love are nothing more than a babysitting service.
January 6Jan 6 I've got no issues with Rosenior, given the circumstances. He's no better or worse than Maresca. The one difference is that he has a system where the striker scores goals. We haven't had that since Conte. His teams have been defensive shambles though.Of course, his first act upon returning to British soil was to be convicted for speeding

January 6Jan 6 So my thoughts are that January is a pivotal month for our season. 9 matches, 6 London derbies and matches in all four competitions. If this guy is savvy enough to keep it simple, play the players where they play and take this month to develop a bond with the players he might do okay. Come in, clipboard in hand giving it the big un and fck up Charlton, Arsenal and CL games and it'll get very dark very quickly.I am looking at the table and I already have genuine concerns before he has even taken a training session.Wolves, I think are done and they are already getting prepared for Rob Edwards in the championship. Burnley I think will stand by Parker and will let him take them down.Dyche is a trench warrior and I think he will get Forest safe.Iraola, Glasner and Marco Silva are safe where they are but all three could leave and step up.I have Nuno at West Ham, Farke at Leeds, Thomas Frank at Spuds, and Rosenior as my nap bet for the next dismissals. Nuno, then Frank, then a toss up between Farke and Rosenior depending upon our performances and how long CL qualification is attainable.A sobering prospect when they have barely ironed on the lads initials onto his tracksuit yet.

Also concerns on whether Reece can hack it at wing back without getting injured again !Doue or the RWB tends to stay wide but doesn’t bomb forward and back as opposed to Morreira on the opposite side. The RWB actually inverts a lot. Maybe a chop and change with Gusto and Cucurella are playing at wingbacks. Former bombs forward and back staying wide whereas the latter is pragmatic in positioning and inverts. All about balance. Something that’s been absent in this team for a while.
January 6Jan 6 All the naysayers need to get on board the Rosenior train because it looks like Gary O’Neil will be Strasbourg’s new manager which of course means our next manager. Shiver!!!!I’m seeing lots of posts saying Rosenior will be out within 12- 18 months. Most of our experienced managers over the last 20 years have only lasted that long.

In a minuscule, inbred (apart from the immigrants) country such as ours, driving should be considered a luxury which can be taken away forever for the slightest infraction. On a societal level we should maybe be lenient only in the event that the person hit by said motor vehicle is leading a life of terrible sin, for example being a paedophile or being part of a private equity outfit.
January 7Jan 7 I’m honestly numb to this appointment. Perhaps it’s the disbelief, but don’t even have it in me to be angry. Can’t get my head around it. Ready to be wrong, but just can’t see him keeping the dressing room. What must the players think if the fan reaction is this poor.Owners and manager aside, I’ll always back Chelsea, through the sun and rain, just ready for a little more sun again.Edit - since posting 30 mins ago, I’ve spent time listening to his press conferences. He communicates well - was pleasing to see. Doesn’t change my original post, but is a positive as we/I learn more about him. Edited January 7Jan 7 by PhilH930
January 7Jan 7 I hope he teaches the team how to defend, we haven’t been able to do that since Tuchel left.
January 7Jan 7 I don’t like this appointment just like I didn’t like Maresca but I’m not going to wish he fails. Failure means the whole club fails and it’s bigger than the manager or the owners. Hope does well.
January 7Jan 7 Not greatly filled with any sort optimism over this appointment. I’ll just wait and see. I’ll happily be proved wrong.
January 7Jan 7 I'm optimistic that his relationship with the board & SD's will allow him to have an input. You don't have to be a yes man if you have a seat at the main table.
