October 7, 20187 yr Best defender in premier league history. Possibly our greatest ever player with Lamps.
October 7, 20187 yr He won a lot and won it all with us. The best defender the Premier League ever had. Hopefully he goes on to have a great career as a coach too......as long as it's not at one of our rivals or if it effects us in a negative way Edited October 7, 20187 yr by Scott Harris
October 7, 20187 yr Love you John! You could miss one hundred penalties in Champions League finals, and you'll still always be our hero! Good luck sir!
October 7, 20187 yr Author Truly the end of an era now. Club legend, nuff said. Don’t think we’ll have to wait too long to see him back at the club in some capacity.
October 7, 20187 yr Felt quite emotional to hear this. End of an era, Everything I try to say sounds like a cliche but he is an absolute legend in the club. What else can I say. Love the bloke.
October 8, 20187 yr BBC making sure they list all the sh*te he's been accused of in their article. Not even gonna dignify them with a link.
October 8, 20187 yr I don't care what any other club thinks; he's still Chelsea's greatest ever defender. Hope he returns as a coach.
October 8, 20187 yr I don't know what to say really, there is no sufficiently great superlative to describe what JT gave to this club. He gave us his body and soul, and was surely the greatest defender ever to grace the Premier League. It was a true privilege to have him in the blue shirt. As far as evolution in football goes, this tendency towards universality in centre backs (and players across the pitch) looks to be more of a permanent shift than a simple trend. A friend of mine claimed a couple of weeks ago that Rudiger is one of the best centre backs in the league. I was about to vehemently disagree, but then wondered... who is the competition? What great defenders (as in good at defending) are left in the Premier League? This leads me to wonder - are we perhaps not just saying farewell (although I imagine not adieu) to a Chelsea legend, perhaps the very best, but also to one of the last great defenders?
October 8, 20187 yr 47 minutes ago, Stim said: Rumors are that he will assist Thierry Henry managing Aston Villa. Good. Learning the trade away from Chelsea, and we can figure out whether he is any good or not. If he is, well....we know what we want
October 8, 20187 yr How lucky we were to have the privilege of having JT as our captain and leader. His achievements as Captain of CFC are unlikely to ever be bettered. Thanks for the memories JT. Come on the Chels! KTBFFH
October 8, 20187 yr All the best in your retirement John, complete legend. I do feel this is the start of his journey back to the club where he belongs.
October 8, 20187 yr Truly awesome career. Enjoy a long a fulfilling retirement, hopefully spent at Chelsea in some capacity. Wouldn't really want to see him as manager as he would inevitably get sacked one day. In their 30 second mention of his retirement the BBC brought up the Ferdinand case and the racism charge, saying he was cleared before the FA banned him. Did they bring up the assault charge on the DJ when Stevie Me announce his retirement?
October 8, 20187 yr What a man, haven't stopped missing him since he left and I don't imagine I ever will. Enjoy you're retirement JT, you deserve it!
October 8, 20187 yr A legend and one of the greatest players to wear the shirt. So many great memories of him. One of my favourites is his goal against Barca in the 4-2 win over them in 2005. I remember his debut for us on 28 October 1998 in the League Cup game in Villa. Here's a picture of him signing for us. God, he looks young.
October 8, 20187 yr Simply the best centre back this country has ever produced thank you for everything JT, end of an era.. Captain Leader Legend all the best in your retirement. Hope to see him back at the club in some capacity Maurizio seems very keen on that happening.

October 8, 20187 yr One of the greatest to ever play for us, what a career! He is and always be a proper blue, he is Mr. Chelsea. I am honored and privileged to watch him grow from a academy player to a Chelsea icon. Doubt we will see another player spending 19 years with us, in times where switching clubs is very common. Wish him a great retirement, hopefully one day a big part of the club but in a different department. Long live king John Terry Edited October 8, 20187 yr by TrueBlueBIH
October 8, 20187 yr A few pictures of JT. One of them shows him alongside Paulo Maldini at an awards ceremony. What a centre back partnership that would have been. https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2018/6/1/in-pictures--jt-s-triumphs-
October 8, 20187 yr Absolute class. I don't think there will ever be another like him. When you think of Chelsea FC, you see John Terry.
