I don't think he was that great this game, but he grabbed the match winner when the opportunity came. His discipline has been top class too, that 5th yellow card just have to wait another week or two 

 

Funny i thought he led the line superbly.A proper target man who links play play brilliantly.Very sharp for the goal.....DIEGO !

probably DC's best play today was when he setup Pedro, only for Pedro to hit the crossbar

Well, yes there is.  BUT, I do love costa.  He's clinical as hell and strong...pace as well.  I obviously love the guy, and defended him outright all last year when he was criticized by folks.

 

the only thing I hate is when he tries to dribble past an entire team by himself...he's no good at that :) 

Basically a third of the season gone and he is not only player of the season for us, but in the League...brilliant week in, week out...and just like didier, now he's cut out some of the nonsense he was getting stick for, he looks a far better player...hurts them where it matters, with goals, not bust-ups

Funny how Costa "needs" to act out and battle with the opponent. Imagine how many goals he would have if he was allowed to get yellow cards and fight with everyone. 

He never needed that and he is not acting our as he doesn't want to get suspension. 

I give some credit to Conte here. 

 

It's disgraceful the amount of decisions he fails to get, the refs are really starting to get on my nerves. The guy is genuinely trying to make an effort in terms of getting on with it and the opposition just seem to take the piss in regards to the niggly fouls and persistent winding up.

You can tell he is playing football like a driver on 9 points on his license, almost tempted to take the bait yet maintaining composure

Yeah I thought that until I thought what I would have felt if a Chelsea loanee had asked for Suarez's shirt when he played for Liverpool.  I think Arsenal fans (wrongly) feel the same about Diego.

Thank heavens he missed that tackle on Traore yesterday, that would have been a nailed on yellow if he had connected

I thought the same thing at the time. the ref played advantage, and when he pulled it back, my heart was in my mouth!

if he comes out of the next game without a yellow it will really be divine intervention

tbh I can't see that happening - you know that ponch will have someone on spudz to take a hit for the team

Think Spurs will play dirty as usual and Costa could see his 5th yellow which could be the turning point as he would miss City away. Think Michy can jump in but Costa will be a strong presence for both games up front.

If he could learn how to dribble past a player he'd be unstoppable.

How come he's so chilled now? I love it. Conte must take credit here for managing to get him to count to 5 haha. 

He is more productive than ever. 

Next two games are mammoth clashes, not looking forward to either but we can win both.

Probably the same reason he was fairly calm in Atletico as well. Under Jose he was just out of control, Jose's doing? i think yes.
