Well if he's picked to play against PSG tomorrow I'm hoping Baba Rahman can rise to the occasion.

Abdul Rahman Baba will definitely help us in attack but he can leave us a bit weaker in terms of defensive cover and 1v1 defending.

 

Azpi on the other hand limits our attack down the flank and makes us very 1 dimensional. 

 

In CL football you need to score an away goal to give yourself a chance. Having ARB on the left and Azpi on the right definitely makes us more dangerous going forward. 

He cant be a top class defender like A.Cole, Marcelo or F.Luis but he has the potential to be the next Gareth Bale.

Really Marcelo a top class defender, Baba is probably at the same level defensively as Macelo. Next you will tell me Dani alves is a great defender. The reason they work there is because they spend so long up the pitch that the winger has to constantly cover them and isn't really in the fray when an attack comes.

I also don't see why Baba can't be a great LB he will be learning from the best defensive LB in the world in Azpi.

Oh, I thought you said Dani Alves was a great diver and I was going to ask how you could argue that.....

This is the month where he makes it or breaks it at Chelsea. We definitely need to keep hold of the ball lots more, we don't want Di Maria running at him all night. Oscar or Willian will be on the left hand side to cover him

For the record, van der wiel is a terrible defender.

Hats off to him tonight, put in a hell of a performance (up against a switching di Maria and Lucas Moura as well) and didn't look out of place at all. He has certainly shown some of the doubters (and I include myself in that number) what he is capable of.

 

It's been a good week for Chelsea's youth.

Yep, good performance from him tonight, he also helped us look so much more balanced too.

Should become a starter.

He and the away goal were the particular shining lights of tonights game.  

Played well today ...

He must not go back to the bench after that performance.

He had a shaky start but grew into the game. He impressed me with his passing, got the ball out of tricky situations multiple times.

Can't say he stopped Di Maria that much but unless I'm mistaken he did well in intercepting and clearing in the box.

Yep I think he's quality

Very good performance today and really does deserve to start the next match. Got caught out of position a couple of times late on but he's young and can learn from these experiences.

I'd have a back four of

Dave - Ivan - JT - Baba

Until the end of the season. Think Ivanovic looked good at centre back, Dave flourishes at right back and Baba is the future of the left back slot so needs minutes.

Think Cahill looked sloppy with the ball tonight. Great reactive defender, puts in lots of last minute blocks etc. but lacks composure with the ball.

Good performance tonight, maybe more suited at present to a European stage. Delivers a good ball in , maybe we should look to him for free kicks and corners from the right ?

Thank god we have Michael Emenalo and his great ability to find young and talented players.

 

Refreshing to see dangerous crosses from the left and he also defended very well too.

Showing more bollox and heart than some so called bigger names...not perfect by any means tonight but on the whole,mad a very good game

The good thing about him that I like is that his composure and he's using his brain.. he didn't just blast over the ball for clearance everytime he won possession (zouma take note!!).. I think he should get a good run of games to further improve.. Also with him there, azpi is having more a say on that right back.. well, JT injury is actually a blessing in disguise but would prefer if he swaps it with ivan..  shame that it needed an injury to actually see chelsea getting back stronger.. 

We need to start Baba-Azpi from now on. Branna can cover for JT and Cahill.

Wonder if this is a gamechanger for him and we now get to see him on a regular basis? If he plays like this he will have justified his price tag.

 

That said as good as the Brasilian was defensively, Marquinhos yesterday posed absolutely no attacking threat, so Baba did not have to deal with a rampaging right back. The loss of Aurier was huge in that regard fr PSG.
