He misses out on millions if he resigns. Him and his team get something like 15+ million pounds if he is sacked. He is never going to resign.

you know what gets me is when he says the players are playing with fear. wtf?! fear of what ffs? you kick a leather ball around for a living, it's not like you're in a boxing ring or octagon, or playing rugby, actual physical sports. football players are so soft these days, everything has to be perfect. perfect weather, perfect playing conditions, pitches like a carpet, no physical contact etc. 

the likes of mahrez for e.g moaning and whining because he can't get a move to man city is what is wrong with the game. how is that guy coming out sulking and saying he has depression because he can't leave to go to man city? is he serious?! there's people out there with genuine depression, not some primadonna who is on 100k a week and isn't allowed to go to another football club. jesus!

I kind of blame Conte for this, he has been switching the back three and playing Bakayoko in a position he is not equipped for. That does not breed confidence and the opposite of confidence is fear yet Conte needs to look in the mirror. He needs to pick a strong team and motivate those players. 

If you could hand pick any football match to get back to winning ways, it would be playing at home to a club 4 points adrift at the bottom of the table.

Conte has to make sure we win this match, anything else would be a failure.

I use to think we will walk these but I can see it playing out making them look like a world beater with our slow passing them playing around with it at the back until we make a mistake and concede. I have accepted now our season will be a disappointing one but hopefully we will come back stronger next season and regain our title

I think the challenge Conte has spoken of is he has changed the formation in the last two games and we've conceded quick goals. It's a double edged sword
I remain a big fan of Cahill, who is one of the best value signings if the Abramovich era, but he can struggle a little when pressed on the ball. Not to go all eggs and omlettes again, but I'm watching Koulibaly for Napoli tonight. His control under pressure and ability to circulate the ball quickly is superb.  We missed a trick not returning for him in the summer when he had a release clause.

Agree to an extent, when he joined he was the junior partner with JT yet had decent pace.

One of his strengths has been scoring from corners.

I was a little surprised when he was made club captain as he did not look a regular starter due to other defenders looking more accomplished.

This is why he is perfect coach for us but at the same time this is the reason he wont stay. The club will have a tight budget and will put money on infra a.k.a. new stadium.

We have craved for us to take the next step towards being closer to Barcelona as a club but will not reach that by buying 2.tier players.

I respect what the club is doing money-wise but we will not see Conte here for long.

Apart from maybe Hazard and Willian, all the players that were here last year have gone backwards in 2017/18. Courtois, Azpiliceuta, Cahill, Luiz, Moses, Alonso, Kante, Fabregas, Pedro. And he's hardly got the new signings pulling up trees either ...

You can't make excuses now the league is more competitive at top 6 than it was last season. He had an easier ride last season with city, utd and even liverpool less strong.

Now because the league is a bit stronger along with added fixtures, he is coming up with stuff to make himself look mr incredible and the players look poor. 

This match is a barometer if the players want him to stay they will put in a shift, if they are half arsed we know where they stand with him

Individual players wont go backwards. If the team performances are not good it seems Individual players are crap. For example almost every team we face will play with 3 back to match our system. Last term most didn't. It is a team game. Confidence goes down 5% and you sudddenly start to lose games. Fatique has also kicked in really this term.

Very True. Some players form has dropped off a cliff - notably Pedro, Cahill and Luiz. Add to that others are in and out of form - Azpi, Moses, Alonso, & Fab and then the new additions have been struggling and at times useless - Bakayoko and Morata, it's no wonder we are where we are. I think last season everything just clicked and we gained momentum and belief and the team as a whole, exceeded expectations and those same players cannot get back to that level, hence we need upgrades.

Will also be interesting to see Conte's body language. Hopefully we won't go behind early and he will be back to something like his normal self. Don't expect him to be up celebrating goals and jumping into the crowd as frankly, doing that against the bottom side would be embarrassing, but I do hope for a more cheerful Antonio and hope that spreads to the team!!

We are actually currently 2nd in the "Top 6 mini league" in terms of points per game.

His excuses don't exactly wash when you consider we have lost games to Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and West Ham ... and struggled desperately to put the mighty Norwich away in the FA Cup ...

 

if he actually talked positively in the media about winning the games rather than all this woe is me stuff, we might even start playing a bit better, especially if we actually attack a bit more rather than have 8 players concentrating on defence.

Three things that Conte can do that might help:

1. Stop slagging off the team in the press with this constant crap about how he needs better players and better signings. It does nothing for their confidence.

2. Change up the training so you don't kill them physically (and mentally) between games .

3. If 3 at the back isn't working then change the formation.
