The way he found Pulisic for the third goal with the ball in the air and him running at speed was sensational, that's end product we simply do not see from Willian (and I'm far from a Willian basher). He has to start with Pulisic Vs Wolves, even more so if we play 3atb again (as it will put less defensive emphasis on the wingers). He did well but let's not forget that the opponents were already tired while he was still fresh, same as Pulisic. I doubt Lampard will start him vs Wolves, Willian's experience makes it unlikely. Still, he was good, looked dangerous on the counter and combined well with Tammy and Pulisic. Very positive performance.
July 23, 20205 yr Nice to have 4 decent wide players to use next season ... start with Werner playing off the left and Ziyech off the right, and then after an hour hit the tired defenders with Pulisic (left) and CHO (right) ... could be fun to watch ! Edited July 23, 20205 yr by Sexyfootball

Very positive performance. Lamps will be setting himself up for a fail if he starts Willian; fully expect him to. Wolves are a counter attacking team who will sit deep, Willian will just keep passing back onwards. We need our wingers to take on their frontmen & whip in crosses. They get the 1st goal, & we might be done.

Very positive performance. I don’t think he’ll start against Wolves either. Willian will, and it would be just like Willian to have a scintillating performance after the horror show he had yesterday. I’d look for Callum to sub on a little earlier than he has been, though.

To be fair, most managers would do the same. Wolves game will decide whether or not we're in the CL next season and in high pressure games people usually go with experience. As frustrating as on occasion Willian can be going forward, he regularlly puts in a shift defensively and does things people tend not to notice because they're not flashy. CHO may be more direct and can surprise opposition with his dribbling and movement but tactically he's still learning and Frank will probably try to take as few risks as possible and who can blame him, the stakes are very high. Havertz starting as a CF/False 9 is wasting his talents, Giroud would do a better job. Tammy just needs to kept far away from the starting lineup, probably needs a loan to a bottom half table in the prem to see how good he really is because hes just not good enough for me.

Don't you think it's reasonable for a 19 year old to act like he wants to be there? Salah, Sterling, Puslisic and others seem to enjoy it enough. Truth is I don't tune in 2x a week to watch a grumpy teenager, and think he should give more on the pitch. Last night was encouraging to see. If you don't think that has any impact on others then I suggest you read some body language books. And smile while doing so :)

We see a player in short flashes during a match taking an hour and a half, let's say twice a week. In CHO's case we've seen even less of him than that. His colleagues see him practically every day for hours. We don't how everybody behaves during training and when the players relax. That impact you're referring to is just the impact on you. You can't speak for others, especially not his fellow players, no matter how many handbooks you're waving about. There is no comparing the way you view CHO to how his colleagues view him. And labelling him as a grumpy teenager (only because he's not smiling enough to your liking), and concluding he is therefore not giving enough on the pitch is completely unfounded. Yeah Werner is 100% starting centrally. People are far too hung up on the formation RB were using.

Thank you for explaining. The microcosm I see of him each week though just doesn't sit right with me, but again, hope I am wrong.

Initially my thought was he is going to be played on the left but it seems like Pulisic has put a stamp on that position & therefore Werner will be played Centrally or fill in on the left in the absence of Pulisic. I personally think that Lampard will try 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 in the upcoming season with Giroud and Werner up top. Werner- Giroud Pulisic Ziyech Kai- Kova Tagliafico- Rudi- Zouma- James Onana
July 24, 20205 yr It's obvious a lot of fans are hung up on CHO due to the contract situation (I'm certainly not), I was talking to my United mate and he even said "What about that Callum lad, threatened to leave for Bayern if he never got good money and he's done nothing since", completely false statement by the way, but that seems to be the consensus with a lot of people unfortunately. It's been a difficult season for him that's due to two big injuries that have hindered that. But honestly, this will all go away as soon as he starts playing well consistently and showing his class, and he will do that. Willian and Pedro will be gone next season, lots of time for CHO to play even with Ziyech coming into the mix. If I know anything, it's that fans are fickle, people were writing Pulisic off at the start and CHO was the next big thing, that soon flipped instantly after the Burnley game. As soon as CHO starts playing well you won't hear about any of this again.

July 25, 20205 yr Come on, does he want cake and a medal. Great that he is training on the off day but show it on the pitch and don't search for validation. Sry bit grumpy.

Sry bit grumpy. The manager went public and said this 4 days ago..... "He needs to keep training at the highest level, which I have seen him do particularly in the last week or 10 days," Callum has responded publicly by posting a pic of him training on his day off. Whats the problem ?

Considering the independent reported a story that he wanted to leave which was by all accounts, a lie, he's trying to show it as much as possible he wants to be here.
