The main thing that screwed him was the money from the contract and ego. More focussed on posting a picture looking cool for the ladies on Instagram. Same goes for RLC. When you have that mentality, you get left behind easy and it's hard to come back from with all that money. Doesn't want to work hard enough to build on that contract knowing that he will still earn a decent amount for a lower level prem side. Getting over hyped being paid too much too young, trying to show off on social media is stunting the development of so many players.

What absolute nonsense. Put your dog whistle away.

CHO and RLC both suffered massive injuries. RLC recovered to serve as an excellent squad player for us, always did whatever was asked of him and never complained about lack of game-time. CHO is still only 22, had a loan that didn't work out (as did RLC with Fulham) to a side with no recognised striker for the first half of the season and which changed manager after his arrival. We see it often, when a side is struggling loanees get pushed aside.

Anyway, RLC is now at AC Milan where it looks like he'll be in the starting 11, hardly a position you reach if you're not hard-working and focused. I sincerely hope CHO kicks on and excels wherever he ends up.

Because he was poor. He ended up on benched for them. During the year at Leverkusen he was involved in 14 Bundesliga (600 minutes of football) games. Only managed to produce one assist and no goals in the proces.

I remember when Bayern wanted to drop £40-50m for him even though he'd just ruptured his achilles. Sad to see one of the brightest prospects from Cobham fall through this way.

TBF he was actually playing well in the 10 before the managerial change.

If Bayern was ready to pay up despite the injury, that in itself might not be the main reason for his downfall. At 22-23 he should be able to prove his worth so maybe he just didn't adapt to being loaned out, a player like him should be doing well in Bundesliga.

Exactly. Several young English players have taken the route to Germany with succes. Hard to say why it didn't work out.

Fair point - haven't watched any of his games for Leverkusen really.

My point is that if he'd been good enough, I'd assume that he'd also been playing some kind of role under Xabi Alonso.

Since the start of February he has only played four times; all substitutions that sum up to a total of 67 minutes ... thats in roughly four months.

£4m is derisory. We should be getting at least £15m.

The "buy high, sell low" strategy continues. Very poor.

75M for Havertz

65M for Mount with a one year contract

20M for Pulisic

20M for RLC

Jackson, Badiashile, Gusto, Madueke etc. all less than 35M.

You can't sell someone for high if no one is interested. Our transfer policy is actually fantastic since January.

£4m offer received from fulham.

To think that we once turned down 10 times that!

Bearing in mind how far CHO has fallen, I would take £4M, but not from a PL side and certainly not Fulham.

The £4m isn't a reflection of his ability, its a reflection of the fact that nobody half decent wants him and that  is the reflection of his ability.

Maybe push for £8m at the most and take the money and move on. Most overrated Chelsea plater since Carlton Cole.
