I don't understand how we can be ahead of Liverpool LOL when they are so fantastic and we have so many weaknesses (apparently ...) in our team ...

we have a duty to repeatedly destroy the hopes and dreams of those scousers - hardly matters if we're actually better or worse than them, it is our destiny :bluescalf:

Well, that chance at the end wasn’t all that bad. Trying to chip the keeper shows he is gaining some confidence. Plus, it was saved.

I've been critical of him, but certainly happy for him and the team today.

i enjoyed it.

11 games played, unbeaten, 27 point and +19 GD. Oh and Sarri is still far from having his system drilled into the players. What exactly is it people want?

I think some people really need to stop listening to the cnuts at Sky/BBC ... if you were listening them, we're apparently an overhyped underdog :laugh2::laugh2:

I think people are looking for problems that aren't there. We are going to go up to second in the table, unbeaten and we are seeing a whole load of posts saying this player and that player aren't good enough for the football we play. If we had so many players that weren't good enough for the role, then we would be dropping a lot more points and losing a lot more games.

I think criticism is always welcome, better than getting ahead of ourselves.

Kante is not that good in this system as he is in his deeper role, Ross is very hit and miss and had a poor game tonight, we still need an upgrade on the wing, I think Pedro was superb today but we need someone else there to add depth. Morata did a great job today, I thought he was hit and miss in the first half, half the time sloppy, half the time effective.

I personally thought the midfield was a bit poor, even Jorginho didn't have his best of games, Barkley and Kante were pretty poor. It always amazes me how when Hazard comes on everything changes, the effect he has on this team is ridiculous.

Ehm ... Apart from 1 or 2 friendlies, He's been systematically starting every game for France. I'd however play him as number 6 and play Jorginho higher on the pitch in the position that kanté currently has.

You can’t play Jorginho ahead of him, it won’t work. I also doubt Sarri will be willing to go 4-2-3-1.

The key question is in games where we are dominating possession and with the opposition sat deep in their half, is Kante effective where there no balls to be won back? No one is saying sell him, far from that but maybe give him a rest here and there. He can also either be taken off 60mins in if we need to score, or brought on to shore up a lead.

Eden is our brightest star.....he's the leader, the threat, motivator etc......plus teams are sh*t scared of him.

I think you're making it out to be more than it is, everyone here is happy and proud of the team.

The criticism has been valid and not over the top, I think everyone knows we have exceeded expectations for this season and are doing really well. That being said there are a holes which are to be expected, I think there are more people complaining about people complaining than there are people complaining ironically.

I really think 4231 will do us decently. Kante and Jorjo at the base, Kova, Eden and Pedro ahead of them with Morata as striker. I hope Sarri tests it someday.

Overall happy we got that 3 points. As it’s games like these you can’t afford to drop points, especially at home.

hazard and kovacic comming on really took us up a gear. I’m happy for morata at least he is scoring again!! That’s 4 goals in his last 4 games in the league.

zaha is too good for palace, he is turning Azpi inside out with ease

I despair that some people have this opinions, and some even seriously said we should buy Zaha.  The boy is a showboater trickster with no end product at all most of the time.  He didn't threaten our goal at all.  He did lots of lovely step-overs and twisty-turny sh*t going back to try to beat the same player over and over again, but actually produced NOTHING.

I actually popped in to see just what sort of twisted, demented logic at least one person would use to justify their idiotic claim that one, more or all of Willian, Luiz, Cahil and/or Mikel were at total and complete fault for Palace's goal, not really expecting to actually see that, but then, f**k me, there is was.  Individual player hate is strong in this forum.

Oh, and Barkley had a mare.  I noticed him give the ball away twice in the first 30 seconds and 4 times in the first 5 minutes.  Didn't really contribute anything after that.

Some good performances today. Jorginho hardly ever puts a foot wrong in his position, total control. Thought Morata done very well, with his movement and a couple of goals. Pedro was a total pain in the hole to the CP back line and took his goal well.

Willian was just Willian, slow in the build up and predictable. Why can’t he be more like his second half last week for more than two or three games a season.

Willian was just Willian but I don't think he was bad at all actually, I thought the sub was the right call to make but not because he was bad.

Its just the standard we are used to.......does not matter who we are playing against. Giving Chels deserved credit is as good as getting spanked 95% of the time. Much much rather listening in in Arabic eventhough I dont understand any of it....

Looking back on it Zaha didn't actually do anything, he gave the ball away a lot, he looked fancy keeping hold of it but in the end it was usually the same outcome, he lost it.

I'm surprised by the negativity.

I don't agree that Kante is not good in this system, IMO this system offers something unique with Kante as he is the most likely player in the opposition half to win the ball back from the opposition. One of our goals last week, for example, came from that if I remember correctly. Obviously, he is more comfortable sitting back, but it is not impossible for him to improve his attacking. People need to remember that we have been playing this system for only about 3 and a half months, and every player is getting used to it at their own pace.

I don't mind criticism, I criticise a lot of the time too, but I think people are going a bit far with it when you consider the position we are in.

I wouldn't say Kante isn't that good in this system at all, I agree with those that say he isn't as effective, but I don't think he has been bad or anywhere close to that. He's still put in a lot more good performances than average ones for us. I would say that Kante's performances are on par with most of the team at the moment. I also think his defensive contributions can't be matched by any other player in the team. If you were to replace him with Kovacic, then I think the opposition would find it easier to get at us. I'm not saying Kovacic wouldn't work as hard as Kante, but when it comes to defensive play, nobody is as good at is as Kante.

Some people are saying we should play Jorginho further forward and pull Kante back, but I think that will have a major impact on our style of football. Jorginho keeping that ball moving from deep is vital to the system, I would go as far as to say that he is untouchable at the moment. His role is the most vital one to Sarri's system.

Good performance overall. Luiz was great today apart from the misunderstanding with Jorginho for their goal. Rudiger - rock solid as usual. Marcos Alonso - great assist, solid in the back. Azpilicueta - good in defense this time, bad at delivering in offense, as usual. I don't expect anything from him. Minute 21, Kante is making a good run, seeing the space, passing the ball in the area and guess what - Azpilicueta is watching him except for going for the ball. It turned out to be too long...

Jorginho, Kante - not great but not bad. Barkley - really bad. When an englisman makes a couple of good games, there is always an overreaction and overpraise from the media. this affected him badly.

Pedro and Willian - wasn't their perfect game but wasn't bad neither.

Morata - he was kinda isolated but scored two goals in crucial time so he had my respect for today's performance. Showing the guts when the team needs him is something that will be appreciated.

Hazard - great affect on the team. this lad is specia.

This is exactly the point I was making before halftime, Sky and BT never have any fair Chelsea representation, City also suffer the same. Who did we have covering our game today? Two ex Spurs players and a Palace player, why are there never any Chelsea pundits? I'm not one to say there is a conspiracy against Chelsea, I don't even think the linesman did a terrible job it was a hard decision, but the bias from football coverage is ridiculous lately.

Sadly we've lost Frank on the panel, but I don't see why they managed to get a Palace player to cover but not a an Ex Chelsea player when we have lots and lots of iconic superstars to choose from that would raise the viewership. I mean who the f**k is Joel Ward exactly?
