What am outstanding goal that was, made to look simple but the run and the pass were of the highest quality, and shows Kante has attacking instincts that show he is definitely more than just a defensive midfielder. We should have been 3 up if not for 2 wrong offside flags, and also hignthe woodwork several times so I'm not sure how people are claiming we were lucky.

Great to get three points and Kante did well, but that's about it. Overall we were poor and terribly dull to watch. Mind you Palace were worse. Only tried to attack with a few minutes to go. A disgrace to the premier league and their fans that

We definitely need a more attacking RW with a left foot. We seriously lack on that side. Not sure Fekir can play RW effectively enough though to consider him for that position. Only other player is maybe Suso of Milan.

That is two generally tough away fixtures (Watford and Palace) out of the way and 6 points from both. Thank f**k we played them both during the winter period and not when they've had a weeks rest.

Thank god for that!

Overall we seemed very organized defensively and azbi, kante were very good today.

However, going forward we always seem to want to play through traffic and walk the ball in the back. We need to start shooting more often

We can upgrade in two positions, and seriously upgrade in the striker position. We missed RLC today. I think Sarri would have gone with false nine again if it wasn't for the injuries to Pedro/Hudson-Odoi too. I think it's obvious he has zero belief in either Giroud or Morata, unless he absolutely has to play them like was the situation today. The board needs to pull out a couple of quality signings in Jan. Can't expect Sarri to work miracles with a striker who can't score and a lack of a goal threatening wide attacker.

Yeah, there was no way we were lucky, we dominated the game even if we were poor in attack. At no point did Palace look like they were getting anything out of the match.

Important win against a team City couldn’t beat that puts a little air between us and Arsenal. Boring match but I’ll take a boring one-nil considering the schedule and the amount of injured/unfit players we have at the moment. Actually we were unlucky not to win three nil and would have done with a different set of officials. Speaking of the ‘offside’ goals, it’s weird seeing people absolutely slate Giroud on here and also claim that he had two goals incorrectly ruled offside.

Kante was very good today, only one that made those diagonal run behind their defence, those that gives you plenty of goals if you can be bothered to make them. He also won us the ball high up the pitch with CP defence unbalanced, but problem was that none of our attackers could be bothered to make a simillar diagonal run into the box when he did.

Critical result given Arsenal's reverse and the fact that this fixture had 'banana-peel' written all over it considering the circumstances.

Luiz conjured up one of his trademark long passes to Kante, who like against Man City made a Lampard-esque run into the box and finished about as well as you can expect from him. Doesn't matter how they go in; it's the fact that they go in that count.

Our defence was quite well-organised (Alonso's dumb card excepted), with Crystal Palace's lack of incision being exposed as they failed to muster a single shot on target. Luiz/Azpi deserve particular credit.

Going forward we were more problematic - again a bit too ponderous in possession. Giroud also seemed to be allergic to the ball, Hazard wasn't quite at his best and Willian was Willian.

We're within touching distance of Man City/Crottenham now - we just need to win again after New Year's Day against an improved Southampton and we will wind up with 3 wins in 4 games.

Sometimes I think this is an Arsenal forum with the amount of moaning I see before during and after matches

And what? What’s wrong with saying what we see? We won but we were a bit sh*t. Nothing wrong with saying it how it is. Happy with the 3 points but we can do a lot better.
