January 5, 20197 yr If ever there was a sign that Barkley's confidence had gone, it was just a moment ago. He had a chance to play a through ball to Hudson-Odoi, but he ignored it. A few months ago, he would have played that pass without worrying if it came off or not.

January 5, 20197 yr Well played Chelsea on to the next round and very impressed with CHO and Ampadu in particular well done boys...

We are not getting that in January. we have Kante, RLC, Jorginho, Barkley and even Ampadu is playing in there too. We don’t NEED one in terms on numbers but in terms of quality that’s a different story.

I don't think that's confidence, I think once Barkley starts dribbling his head goes down. He has poor vision once he starts running with the ball. If he could fix that he'd be a much better player, he wants to run with it a lot, then has to keep going.
January 5, 20197 yr A half and half performance, some looking to impress and doing so, others looking like they have lost their confidence. Hudson-Odoi is surely close to getting into that first 11. I don't care about age, he's the one who has created the two goals today, something others aren't doing.
January 5, 20197 yr Hudson Odoi can play both left and right and he hit Morata with the ball once in the head and once on the foot, man of the match Callum. Zappacosta had a great game as well.

January 5, 20197 yr Job done. Fabregas has been a fantastic servant for us, He could definately still do a job, but I can see why the club would cash in on him now, and why he would leave if a 3 year deal is on the table. Cheers for memories cesc. CHO was fantastic second half, he has not put some serious pressure on sarri, and even though I do t think he will start against spurs, I can see him starting the league game next weekend. Hopefully get another nice home draw.

He’s been a terrific signing since we brought him in and I’ll really miss watching his passing, it’s been a joy to have him at the club but he deserves to play as he still has the quality. He deserves massive respect for not just taking the money to sit on our bench but to go and seek playing time.

January 5, 20197 yr Zappacosta certainly gives us something more in the attack compared to Azpilicueta. Could we try giving Alonso some time off and playing te cap in the left side and Zap on the right side.

January 5, 20197 yr Job done minutes for backup players. Sarri has fresh view to decide if they’ve done enough. Thought the crowd were quiet again.

Barkley vision is so poor, the amount times he just doesn't see the killer ball is so frustrating. Like a strikers instinct, the best passers see the openings, Barkley just doesn't have it in his game.

Azpi was getting up into the box quite a bit in his minutes today, what you are seeing in the attack, may have a little to do with who we are playing.

He’s still the best passer of the ball we have and I think he’s been under-utilised by Sarri. If he is leaving, which it looks like he is, I think that’s a bad decision on our part. There’s no one out there who we can get who can do what Cesc can. He is a better player than Jorginho, his legs have gone a bit, but he is only 31, but he has been playing since he was 16 for Arsenal, so plenty of miles in those legs, love ya Cesc, Adios baby Edited January 5, 20197 yr by Ballack & Blu

Whist i wouldn't be against this, i would actually like us to try to bed Emerson in to the LB role on a full time basis. In fact if it were me, especially with current injuries I would also try RLC up top for a decent period of time and i would play CHO as a regular starter as well. But these managers are too worried about losing their jobs, although the reason escapes me, as they all seem to get millions in pay offs when they do get sacked. January 5, 20197 yr Much better performance than the Soton game. CHO showed that he can play on the right as well. A very good performance. It's a real pity to see Cesc to; we have to get someone to replace him. He is much better offensively than Jorginho and after Cesc gone there is nobody to cover Jorginho (at least according to Sarri).
January 5, 20197 yr 1st half - frustration again 2nd half - never seen a striker not celebrate either goal of a brace (except vs old club) then choose the tunnel over the bench upon being subbed, is he looking to go in the window ? Should had a hat trick but FairPlay he got the winner. Ref - poor, Yacob the horrible C from WBA got away w it not once but twice should been 2 extra pens Fab - a great player whom I’m very sad to see go on the cheap when we really need him as cover for Jorginho. Hope the club have a replacement lined up but doubt it. CHO - great especially in 2nd half. Probably get sold to Bayern now Hazard - very quiet, hopefully saving himself for the north London white Vermin. ( hope that’s PC) like the stat that says when weve knocked out Forest 2 times before we won the cup carefree then !
