August 15, 20196 yr Did really well yesterday i thought. Rapid, good on the ball and strong. He'll play an important role this season.
August 16, 20196 yr A much better option than David Luiz imo. We are blessed to have such good young players and finally a manager with the stones to give them a fair crack.
August 17, 20196 yr I was very nervous when Christensen went off but I was really impressed with him when we came on. Never dazed or out of control. Only time I’ve seen him is when we played derby last season and he scored an own goal. That skewed my view of him - but he looked good. Probably controversial but with Luiz gone, I wouldn’t have minded keeping Cahill. Think his experience would have been valuable. At the same time, I can see why the club moved him on.

He wouldn't have accepted a squad role and would look out of his depth with the new system. He went down in my estimations with that interview at the back end of last season, that was everybit as crass as the Willian emoji gate, if not more. Edited August 17, 20196 yr by Argo
August 17, 20196 yr Great pace and clear potential. It's up to Frank and the coaches to bring the best out of him.

I had a quick read of a few of the threads on him and they rate him very highly apparently (I know Championship is a different level of course, but it's a positive sign.) I noticed he looks very comfortable on the ball and is quite two-footed, as well. Who scored have tackling (v. Strong),, passing (strong) and interceptions (strong), as his strong points with aerial ability as his weakness, for what it's worth. He was their player of the season, which was voted for by the fans. So they must rate him even higher than Mount.

Moaning he didn’t get a run in the team last season.

As a player, week in week he gave everything with performances as consistently high as any player in the team. He wanted parity with the otherr top players and should have been given it, so i don't blame him for being upset with the way the club treated him. He'd definitely be in my alltime Chelsea 11. Tomori has way more ability and potential than Zouma, so play him now. Edited August 18, 20196 yr by Dixons

He was told at the start playing time would be limited, he could have done what Luiz has did this time and gone somewhere for game time but he chose not to (which is his right). I always had a slight suspicion he wasn't as humble and unassuming as made out and I guess this proves it.

There’s loads of interviews with ex-Chelsea players on FourFourTwo.com that I was reading yesterday. Gallas talks about the circumstances about his departure. Nowadays I see him as one of our great players not the turncoat snake I though he was back then. Same will happen for Luiz.
August 31, 20196 yr I think it's a real shame his effort today has been lost amongst a poor result, he was superb I thought and overshadowed his more experienced partner.

Rather unfair to ask him to hold together a defence with 3 sh*t defenders alongside him I though. With Andreas maybe they could have dealt with the ineptitude of Emerson and Dave.
September 1, 20196 yr Not only did he do well in his usual role but he was also trying long passes to Tammy, it looked like they understand eachother on the pitch. Great addition to the squad at the right time.

I don't think he played any better than Zouma, he just looked more relaxed. Positional sense will come with experience.
September 2, 20196 yr Still raw, will learn but most importantly he must learn the art of reading the game rather than focusing on his physical abilities to get him out of trouble.

I think that is half the problem with Zooms he just doesnt look relaxed, which makes him look a worse player then he actually is.

There's clearly something in zouma that a coach sees. Other than the united game, I can't remember a mistake he's made. He was great against Norwich.
