Following our Nearest & Dearest Rivals 2019/20

He won’t have the money he likes to have. Plus this new generation of players don’t seem to get motivated by his personality anymore. If he couldn’t succeed at United he has little chance with those w**kers.

Bit of a blow that. Not just because they've replaced one top-level manager with another, but also because of the personal, the tribal affiliation some of us still feel for José. For me, even when he was beating us with Man Utd and Inter, even when we were floundering near the relegation zone in 2015, that love and respect was never broken. This will probably be the last straw. I'm fairly ambivalent towards Man Utd as a club (especially over the past few years when they've been sh*t), but Tottenham are the actual enemy, they are despised. José jumped into bed with them quicker than Boris Johnson and a tech entrepreneur.

If Pochettino's team were tired or disaffected then José is perhaps ideal. His teams tend to run less than any others, and he famously is capable of building a serious team spirit, at least at the beginning.

There are a few personnel questions that he will need to answer. Can he prevent (assuming he wants to) the likes of Eriksen, Alderweireld, etc. from leaving? Can he fix their current disaster at right-back? Can he bring the full potential out of the likes of Ndombele, Alli, etc.? Will he engage in the typical standoff with Levy regarding the transfer budget? Considering how quickly he was appointed you have to imagine much of this was agreed in advance of his appointment.

Farewell old friend... I hope this is the end of you.

Danny Rose will be the first to go. Kane will be benched. Eriksen will stay now.

I’m sure Jose is going to ring the changes at Spuds.

Jose said he’s “excited by the academy “. Errrr?

We will see if he's changed his ways and learned. Didn't he say his break from football has given him time to learn during a recent interview.

For me the good feeling I had for Jose has now gone, that bond that I still had after United is not there anymore.

Just another manager in a long line now, he will ruin Spuds and ruin his legacy.

Silly guy

Yep. It's sad how things have turned out since he was sacked in 2015.

Couldn't have joined a worse club if he tried.

I feel the same mate.

I will never hate Jose and I appreciate his contribution to our club, but I have no love or adoration for him anymore. Going to Spurs just kills my love for him.

I defended the bloke for years in spite of all the criticism he's received. You can go back to my posts from 2015 and 2016 to see that.

Never a Chelsea bloke deep down like we all wanted to believe.

Will Tottenham bounce back under Mou? I can see them finishing this season strongly, the cracks will start to show next year.

Who's going to play RB? I can see Mou clashing heads with Aurier straight away. Eric Dier likely to get shifted there like he was when he first signed for the club maybe.

Saw them tweet which I thought was interesting and true

”Tottenham are a club with a modest budget, a chairman who has strong opinions, a long term plan and a lot of players agitating over their future. Every one is a red flag when set against the name Jose Mourinho.”

Then, Jose May see them abit like Chelsea in 2004 - a club on the verge of winning something but not quite. He may like the underdog challenge?

The massive difference being Chelsea were willing to throw money about left, right and centre. Levy will not do that. Is that not a lot of the issues with the likes of Erickson? I’d be amazed if these guys stay for half the money they could get just because of Jose - this will be interesting to watch. I personally see it ending as a car crash, he will clash with Levy every transfer window. Hopefully it’s a wake up call to the unwavering love some have for him. Total respect for his time here, but I have no particular affection for him any more.

I wonder if Jody regrets his tweet now. Could potentially backfire on him.

Don’t think Jody will give a f***. Jose has done the team talk for Frank & Jody when we play them. These are boys who would be on loan in league 1 if Mourinho had his way with our academy. I would LOVE if Jody noised him up on the sideline, it would be absolutely brilliant.

I think we will be back to getting single points off Spurs while Jose is there.

I can see why management appointed him as they are desperate to win a trophy to stop them becoming a selling club. Mourinho hasn't won a top trophy for a while and they are out of the EFL so that leaves the CL or FA Cup. They are well placed to reach the knockout stage of the CL.

He is back in London now with his family and unless the players down tools they could do well.

I personally don't see this being a long-term relationship.

We meet 22 Dec at their ground.

Jose himself once said "Once you join a rival, the love story ends".

I couldn't agree more.

Jose is a match made in heaven for the dirtiest team around by far. At least for a season. We play them 22.12. on their pitch and after Jodie's IG response they will be overly motivated and ready to break some legs. f**k me, not looking forward for this one and with Loliver or Taylor to referee.

WE HATE TOTTENHAM, CHELSEA!

Good thing Spurs aren't and have never have been our rivals. Pathetic club.

I agree they're pathetic, but I regard them as our biggest rival.

Shame we couldn't have already played Spurs before Mourinho came, that game will be much trickier now.

I think the only fans who hate Mourinho more at this point will be Arsenal fans.

You just know he's going to get Alli, Dier and Vertonghen to do everything to get in our lads head, especially the young one's. Luckily Frank will be aware of that and all the tricks Jose pulls and should prepare them accordingly, maybe by getting Rudi, Kova, Pedro and Jorginho to play the roles of sh*thouse players in training.
