Funny thing was Lamps was hammering CHO earlier in the season for now doing the defensive work. Early days but still not sure about him, would like some variation from the checking in & floating in crosses. Maybe cut back, come in & shoot like Robben does.
January 4, 20215 yr I guess this magic bullet didn’t work or shouldn’t have been in the team after just coming back

January 5, 20215 yr Think we haven't been able to break any team down after he went off in that leeds game, just show how little everyone else has contributed. Clearly a bad choice yesterday let him start one of the toughest game of the season without fitness and fluency, expect him to get better soon.

Yep, he's been a big miss and we were all crying out for his return so can understand why Lamps gambled but it was a gamble that backfired. He does excite me and am hoping he will be able to provide a bit of what we have been missing since Hazard left. Not going to crucify him for one poor performance but equally hope not to see him so lacklustre again with the poor body language. If he gives us anything like Hazard used to give us as an attacking threat then he can be excused not tracking back but he has to earn that and hopefully will when fully fit.

January 5, 20215 yr Lampard says his side must find a new source of creativity when the former Ajax star is out of action and is eager to welcome the 27-year-old back into the team. "Not a coincidence. We can't rely completely on him. He was very effective of us in terms of creation and goals," the coach said when asked the significance of the Morocco international's absence. "It helped, we were very fluid until he got injured. We want him back. There's a possiblity he could be fit for [Sunday's game against] Manchester City if it goes ahead. He's close."
January 5, 20215 yr That's it, Jesus that's absolutely not him claiming anything like what you wrote. As RMH said then, hyperbolic garbage.
January 6, 20215 yr We lack balance in our attacking wide players, Ziyech is probably the only natural Right Winger we have in the squad. CHO, Pulisic and Werner all prefer playing on the left and the balance always seems off when Ziyech is not available. I guess that was one of the main reasons Ziyech was rushed back into the starting 11 whilst he was still not fully fit.

January 31, 20215 yr Tuchel said “Hakim has been in a bit of overload since five weeks so he has a bit of a risk of getting injured if he plays more than say 30 minutes. For that we decided to take a break now to go out of the risk zone. We decided this yesterday.”

January 31, 20215 yr Hudson-Odoi is getting better and better in recent times. Time for Ziyech to up his game if he wants to nail down a permanent spot.
February 8, 20215 yr Anyone else wonder how he’s going to fit in in the system Tuchel has started with? Don’t get me wrong I’m a massive fan of Ziyech but I’m not sure where he plays in this system.

Can’t see it; he has been lazy though, can’t be relied on to press, and you can’t carry lazy players in a 3-4-3. Ironically CHO was the one deemed too lazy before, now he is somewhat indispensable.
