June 25, 20206 yr Well we need City to make a mistake in order to score it seems. We only need a good buildup play. After that all is possible.
June 25, 20206 yr 5 minutes ago, RIP Mourinho said: He was for leicester and he was for us under Conte. I think the point is more does he really fit what Lampard wants from a CM? I’m not so sure now we dominate possession. He never played box to box for Leicester, he was sat deep in a 2 alongside Drinkwater. Same with Conte he was sat deep in a 2 with Matic. It is one thing pressing the ball & winning it back, a box to box needs to know what to do with it when he wins it back.

Our midfield 3 were wrong tonight against City. Needed ball players. Gilmour, Jorginho and Kovacic would have given us so much more control. Kante is lost in this central midfield role against a team like City.
June 25, 20206 yr I don't know what is wrong with Kante. I don't know if it's the injuries or the tactics, but he has had a really poor season. Out of all of the midfielders we have, he has been the most disappointing after Barkley, which is shocking seeing as he has been one of our best players since he joined.
June 25, 20206 yr Yes, give Sterling time and space, it's the polite thing to do. Edited June 25, 20206 yr by Valerie
June 25, 20206 yr We need a change in midfield I would bring jorginho on for Barkley and push kante further up
June 25, 20206 yr Playing against a team like City you cannot afford to waste possession. Billy would be good in that respect as he rarely gives the ball away.

Drinkwater sat and Kante got up and down the pitch. Same with Matic for us. Just because he’s not scoring 10+ goals he was still a box to box mid, not a holding mid like people try and make out he is. Edited June 25, 20206 yr by RIP Mourinho
June 25, 20206 yr Drinks break shows two very different managers. Pep is all tactics, Frank's got his hands in his pockets.

June 25, 20206 yr Frank needs to be proactive, we can all see the midfield is non existant so why can't our manager?
