What a player this guy is...

That first time past right into Mounts path at about 1.22 - just absolute sheer class. WHAT a player.

I love the simple one at 0:40, that little dink to Kante, just the way it's played is super slick. Did he even give the ball away once? Can't believe the likes of Pep weren't chasing him when he was crying out for ball playing defenders who could actually defend.

Honestly it would never have occurred to me to try to go for Thiago Silva on a free. A truly brilliant piece of recruitment - exactly what we needed at centre back (and a perfect partner for Zouma).

We should have a plan for replacing him in the event of injury or the worst happening. At the moment Rüdiger is serving well as Silva's backup (and surprisingly so given the situation as it as at the beginning of the season), however Tomori seems like the obvious alternative to Zouma.

The first 30 minutes of the second half last night was an absolute master class in defending.

The first 10 yards are in this guy's head. Unbelievable.

Really doesn't look like he's getting any worse to me. I just hope he packs in international football like Terry did, that greatly helped Terry's performances here once he hit his 30's.

He's pretty much said that playing in the next world cup is his main source of motivation to keep going so it's a trade off we're just going to have to suck up.

Thank god for Silva. I really dread to think what our results would have been like if it wasn’t for him. Despite the awful form we’re in, he’s a very reassuring figure at the back. Makes a huge difference.

Imagine if we didn’t sign him... good god.

Thought he was absolutely ace btw, as he usually is. It's very rare this guy makes mistakes, even when he goes in for 50/50's there like 90/10's by the time he's done with them, always wins them. I noticed it a few times in the Wolves game, he knows when to make the tackle and when not to, love him, I hope he sticks around for longer.

Anybody who can play alongside him and make David Luiz appear even remotely close to being a marginally competent centre-half, has to be acknowledged as a truly world class talent. And Silva has been that for years.

Worrying how much more open we were when he went off, this shows just how important he is in controlling the defence and midfield. The rest of our defenders are so quiet, we really need another vociferous defender.

No reason to risk him against the Blades, or Barnsley, or even Newcastle after that.

Yep ,we should be good for those games .Plenty of time for him to recover until that United match.
