October 30, 20214 yr Absolutely insane that he is performing to the standards that he is at the age of 37.

I wonder if his stop start early 20s (due to his illness) is actually working in his favour now. We see how a lot of early bloomers burn out by the time they get to late twenties/early 30's (Rooney and Torres prime examples), this could be the reverse.

If that’s the case I fancy Pullisic will be getting a free bus pass to Cobham for training. Edited October 30, 20214 yr by goose
October 30, 20214 yr Very confident he will still be here next season, so long as we dont get in the way of him playing for Brazil. More confident he stays that Dave, Toni and Andreas.
October 31, 20214 yr I think the way he controls a defense I am sure the likes of AC and Chalobah will be learning all the time.. he regularly shouts instructions- always switched on … Rolls Royce of a player!

This is the main reason why I don't want Mount to play every single game. He's the one I worry about the most when it comes to burn out. He's only 22 and already has two seasons with over fifty appearances.

Kevin Lisbie was in his mid-thirties when he finally got a consistent starting spot at Leyton Orient. When asked how he was capable of it, he responded that it was because he had spent his entire career to date coming off the bench.
November 20, 20214 yr Today he was the best CB on the planet. Every touch purposeful, every pass on point, stifled waves of attacks coming at him like it was nothing. 9.9/10 performance
November 20, 20214 yr Imagine him and peak JT together. We would have probably doubled our trophy haul.

November 21, 20214 yr If you didn't know he was 37 you wouldn't know he was 37. Truly outstanding player, and an uncannily smart signing. Stick around for another year won't you please.

Not to knock on David or Gary who were good for us too but they are far from the qualities that Carvalho or Silva bring us. A back four of Ashley-JT-Silva-Brana would have been absolute mint after Carvalho left.
November 21, 20214 yr We have heard many times he planned to stay at the top level until after the next world cup then move back to Brazil. One good thing about a mid season world cup means he will stay for one more season. Who knows after that if we can convince him and his family to stay longer. I doubt it, but am grateful we have had such a great player at all.
