Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*

Featured Replies

Feel a bit sad for him. I like him but he obviously doesn't have that pull factor that some other managers that may be considered his peers have.

When some managers get involved and call a player, it is settled. Transfer in the bag.

According to reports he has called player(s) and transfers never materialised. Something that even Lampard managed to succeed at when player profile was arguably even higher than the one he is failing at. Hell even Xavi with no major managerial accolade to his name is managing to swing decisions with a phone call.

Let's see how charismatic our eventual director of football is.

I am becoming increasingly concerned about the state of the squad. We lost 2 CB's for nothing, something pretty much all of us assumed was going to happen since the new year, and we still haven't replaced them today, with only 2 weeks remaining until the new season starts. I know the ownership change has had a big part to play, but it was something we urgently needed to address and it's blowing up in our faces. Koulibaly may be a good signing, but he is reliant on his pace, how much longer will that pace last? he's in his 30's, he could lose it at any moment. Thiago Silva is 38 and is almost certainly in his final season with us. Chalobah and Colwill are not at the level needed for where we want to be yet and they may never be. We reallly need a CB that is young enough to come into the first 11 now but still hasn't quite entered their prime yet. Kounde would have been that player, but we have had our pants pulled down with that one.

We are also going into next season with the same issue we had with Rudiger and Christensen, but this time it's Jorginho and Kante. I have heard bugger all about their contract situations, so are we going to lose them for a free as well next season and desperately scramble for more midfielders like we currently are with CB's? Midfield is already pretty complicated as it is. One DM and 4 other CM's playing for one spot and all of them have question marks against them.

We still haven't bought in cover for our wing backs, something that needs serious addressing when you look how much worse we are without either Chilwell or James. What are we going to do, go into next season with Kenedy and Emerson? two players who have been on our books for 5 years and giving us nothing in return. Our attack still worries me, even with the addition of Sterling and we still have so many rubbish players at the club on big wages.

Our squad just seems like a bit of a mess and I wonder if we are ever going to get a settled side under Tuchel. I highly suspect he will be on Real Madrid's radar once Carlo Ancelotti has a wobble.

De Ligt would have been ‘that’ player, seems we came running back to the previous board choice of Kounde when that perfect option became a no-go, such a shame but it is what it is. I share your sentiments on the midfield though, rinse and repeat of this window by the looks of it; hopefully the new ‘director of business’ has a plan in mind. I suppose it’s too risky to extend those deals considering Kante is on his last legs and Jorginho’s place is up in the air, Real Madrid signing 2 of the best young up and coming centre midfielders with Kroos & Modric STILL at the club is essentially the perfect model but that’s what you get when you’re the worlds biggest club.

I really think he should have taken a holiday during the summer. Like the team he does not appear refreshed at all.

Coming off all the challenges last season it is not surprising he looks tired. I like Tuchel but I fear he is going to be in trouble this season. There are always high expectations for our club but there will be extra scrutiny with a new owner, and an incoming sporting director. If things aren't going well it will be easy for them to bring in their preferred choice, whoever that may be. We have a tough run of fixtures to start too.

That plus his divorce it was an unbelievable decision not to take a break from it all.

I mean sure admire the dedication but it looks terribly foolish.

TT made so comment about Arsenal being more committed than us because a lot of our players are considering their options and want to leave. A lot of our players? How many exactly?

So why do several of our players want to leave? The new ownership? Had enough of the PL? TT himself? Why?

It's because nobody here seems to care about their socks anymore. Too busy posting gifs!

TT has some hard work to do. So far his squad look

- disinterested

-uncommitted

- tactically inept

- unable to build an attack at pace

TT himself looks unable to improve forward players, unable to improve the attacking system and clueless on how to get the team playing.

All the time, he is also balancing (apparently) duties to sign players and alluding to players who are not pulling their weight (yet who he still picked!)

Not a good look.....

I was asking the same questions. We are aware that Dave and Alonso want out,  and after TT's recent comments, probably Timo too, but how many is "a lot" ?? I have a really bad feeling about this now. 0-4 to Arsenal is atrocious and although I did not watch it, Twitter Chelsea fans leave me in no doubt that it was a shockingly poor performance in every area of the pitch.  Especially attacking where we literally had no ideas. TT now making the clear mistake of openly criticising players saying that we have the same issues in creating chances as we have the same players. Not good for Werner, Havertz, Mount etc.  I can see this going badly wrong for TT.

Oi! I praised our beautiful new socks when a hightlights video was posted of a friendly with Kanté and RLC. I"ve yet to see what we were wearing last night, but I keep an eye on what matters @Amputechture

Question is: should I really bother with the highlights (for Arsenal anyway), or skip it and just mutter something about wake-up calls and how it's just about fitness at this stage?

Any sounds yet about the odds on TT getting sacked this season

We seem to lack AT LEAST three top players in key positions - center of defence, on the wing and a center forward.

Think we will adress the CB position soon. On the wing, I don't know, there are no links to anybody and as for the center forward position I am worried we are soon going to push the panick button and move for Cristiano Ronaldo...

We must start the season on the right foot otherwise things could turn ugly very quick! First five matches of the season are v Everton (a), Spurs (h), Leeds (a), Leicester (h), Southampton (a). We need a minimum of 13 points out of these matches to create a good atmosphere and make sure things don't go south before it's even mid September.

add CM to that.

Lack of motivation and team spirit is hardly lacking. Tuchel's words after the game against Arsenal are worrying because there are things that on his responsibilities as well.

League is incoming very soon and we're far from being ready to play there. Something needs to be changed.

First home game f**king spuds, and if we don't get sorted which i don't think we will. We are going to get hammered, Can you imagine that ffs.

Funny thing is we will still beat arsenal when it matters so i wouldn't look at this friendly too much.

However, i am still baffled that Tuchel is so stubborn with this system! Playing with 5 defenders for chelsea is simply not good enough. Players we have also don't suit that system. For instance Gallagher in the middle 2 is simply at best average.

There are problems with this club that existed far before Tuchel arrived. The horrible habits that have crept into our game like getting to the oppositions box and somehow ending up back at the halfway line feels like it's been getting worse for years now, since Conte's second season at least. There were even signs of it under Mourinho. It's like it's become part of the clubs identity. I hate it, I just want to see the club consistently play with some desire to create chances, not lose their bottle as soon as they approach the oppositions box. I have never seen a club that has gone through so many goal shy attackers.

Hazard has been our only consistent attacker in nearly a decade at this point. Costa, Pedro, Giroud and now Mount have been good in patches, but everybody else has been sh*t. It's not surprising that Salah and De Bruyne went on to greater things once they left us, we just seem to be the death of attacking footballers. It doesn't help that our midfield is lightweight and can't produce a bit of creative football between them. It's like the only thing we can get right these days is our defenders and fall backs.......well, until one of the CB's or Goalkeeper decides to forget how to pass a ball and just gives it to the opposition so they can score an easy goal.

On the pitch and off the pitch, our whole identity has become really soft.
