September 1, 20214 yr I want to see another player apart from the ones we have in the Midfield at the moment. We complicated things for ourselves when we started using an offensive player (Jorginho) in defensive midfield and right now I don't even know how we can make that midfield work. If we have an FA cup semi final clash tomorrow against Liverpool at Wembley, how do we manage the game and try to win. Or are we going to struggle to play draw with them and then go into penalties, and probably lose the match? I mean I don't think Chelsea were like this before. We must be big enough to win all these our rivals in 90 minutes and not be playing draw with them. If you watch El clasico in Spain, I think most of the time, one of the teams win. And it was not something special that one of the teams win, the team was better than the other, and it won the other team. Even though the team was winning a big team, it was normal. We should get used to winning big teams. I want us to try Saul and Jorginho partnership first. We all know that Kante is good, let him rest a bit. Let's see if Saul can help us our attack a little bit more. I want Tuchel to focus more on that central midfield in matches. Let him be ready to use two substitutions in those positions in a game. Meaning you use Chillwell instead of Alonso, so u don't have to make substitution in that position. If we do that, we can have a strong team.

Not sure myself. *** Content with the loan although I would have preferred that young French one from Monaco who could have build a good future midfield with Gilmour but can't complain if Saul hasn't lost it completely.
September 1, 20214 yr I think he will be alright. His attitude is what we need. Nothing given, everything to earn. The basis for this was Simeone played him everywhere for two seasons starting from Striker to left back. He is referring to his own position which is a box to box midfielder. His release clause was something like 100m so if he can regain his form we have a gem in our hands. I think Tuchel won't mismanage him.
September 1, 20214 yr Good to hear he is willing to push himself. We want players who will challenge the established team members for their place in the starting eleven, that is the only way we improve as a group.

Tbf I think he just doesn't want to be used as purely a dm or utility man in the way Simeone has played him these past few seasons. Under Tuchel as one of the double 6s I can imagine he will be encouraged to fulfill every role in that CM slot (box to box, holding, etc) he has all the tools to succeed so let's hope he recovers he's past form. He may be what we've been needing for years, goals from midfield. If he shoots from outside the box I doubt many people will complain, also if he dribbles through the team and has shot again its something we wish Kovacic and Kante did more of, we know they can do it. Yep hoping he isn't a player who gets nosebleeds in the final third like our other central midfielders.
September 1, 20214 yr Been at Atleti since he was 13, 300 la liga games, bags of experience, one of Diegos 'Dogs of war' and is a very good player, that is a bit lost, no doubting TT will bring him on..
September 1, 20214 yr He is another player Tuchel can totally rely on for any situation. If you look at our side we have versatility in every department. I think he would be extremely happy to try and make it in the Premier league playing in midfield and nowhere else. He can then decide wheter he tries to score or make assists. It isn't easy in a box to box role but you have a big say in that as a midfielder. Essien for example took his chances and covered for defense.
September 1, 20214 yr I don't see where he will fit in or what position he will play exactly, but a good signing!

Could also be as an 8 that does more than just retrieving the ball. But also has a playmaking style that has some offensive creativity to offer. Or maybe he want to have the opportunity from time to time to join a line higher when on offence if someone takes over his position. Rather than the entire time holding back and playing only with a defensive mindset.
September 1, 20214 yr Author We don't really use a dedicated number 10 position, hopefully he is happy to be in a double 6.
September 1, 20214 yr He is our second left-footed central midfielder in the recent years after Matic. For me he fills the Kante position as a box-to-box or the CM position of Kovacic, he's great defensively and if he can do well going forward he's going to have a lot of fans very soon.

Wait, I thought he was brought in as LWB coverage with Chilly and Alonso. We're down to two in that position now with Emerson and Rahman departing. Attack may win you games, but left backs win you titles.
September 1, 20214 yr Seems like the only midfielder we have that can shoot from outside the box as well !
