February 12, 20224 yr CHO will be replaced in the 2nd half with a traffic cone along with Lukaku who will be replaced with a lump of lard....
February 12, 20224 yr How many times is Silva going to come forward with the ball into lots of space and ignore all the attacking runs, only to pass it sideways? And why for that matter is our main "creative" outlet, a f**king centre back?

Does anyone really think this is a big game? Utterly pointless tournament. We should gave sent kids and got them to bring back duty free for Paul Merson.

This is the biggest game of his career, you really think Lukaku can win a Champions League in a different team to come back to get the chance to win this trophy again? This competition reeks of greed but it's the only one we haven't won yet.
February 12, 20224 yr No matter what happens some will still say that our back 3 formation is an absolute must, even though we look like we're playing pre-season all the time just casually passing the ball between Rudiger and T.Silva. Sure we have possession but that we have regardless.
February 12, 20224 yr We play far too slow. That’s one of the main differences between us, Liverpool and City. We do nothing at pace and therefore rely on all passes in any move to be inch perfect. We play far too much like an Italian team but without any of the accuracy that the Italians do when they attack.

February 12, 20224 yr Whenever I hear pundits say "Lukaku is one of the best at....." I roll my eyes. Lukaku isn't one of the best at anything.
February 12, 20224 yr Very cagey football from both sides. This is Palmeiras most sought after trophy for bragging rights in Brazil and so they have 7,000 fans there sold out in 30 mins. I think we will win. Shame Mount went off, not sure why assume injury. Havertz looks up for it though not coming off so far. Palmeiras have threatened to open us a couple of times though they were not clinical. Lukaku not really in the match and Pameiras get a lot of people to defend centrally when we threaten. It will either be an error or something special to win this, IMO.

Thankfully our players are taught to press so we have the possession but this playstyle is pretty tedious to watch, Sarri didn't care to teach the press but we had some movement of our attackers, it mattered when we had the ball to do something with it. I'm mindblown that Ziyech isn't playing. Our football under Sarri was probably the most regularly tedious in all my years of watching Chelsea. Over playing in midfield, not committing players forward in numbers ahead of the ball. It was more often than not incredibly frustrating and boring. What we did have though (and Sarri had), was Hazard. A true world class forward at that time, capable of going past opponents with ease and scoring worldies.

Nah , he’s been picking the ball up in good positions and has had a number of terrible passes/shot, nothing to do with the system. Hopefully he picks it up in the 2nd half
February 12, 20224 yr we are increasingly boring to watch these days. Did we somehow go back in time to Sarri?
February 12, 20224 yr A close frustrating first half of the match so far, can't say it's too unexpected unfortunately with how we've been performing recently - hardly an entertaining spectacle, tough to watch as a fan, for a neutral must be abysmal, would have switched over to something else already. Neither side inspiring much threat yet, we need to improve significantly second half, will be so annoyed if we mess this one up again after we did almost a decade ago. Hope the team put in a proper determined effort second half and secure the result we want to see!
February 12, 20224 yr Bring on Mark Hughes … can’t be any slower than this lot! What happened to pace and one-touch football?

We have reverted to Sarriball but without the world class attacker to provide moments of excitement.
