It will be difficult to find the right balance with those 3 and enzo

Easy solution is to bin Enzo.

If Gusto goes to olympics then he will miss at least the first game of the season. Maybe the first couple.

Club's decision then, as they can refuse the call up given it isn't a FIFA organized event.

Would leave us with no RBs for the first few games.

Not sure that is what the board had in their mind when they send 120m to Benfica plus it means renewing Conor which again now what they want.

Genuine question here.

With Mudryk unmoveable, plus Noni, Palmer, Neto, Felix and Dewsbury-Hall, is there a place here for Nkunku?

He is one big wages, injury prone and had 2 stinkers to start the season. Is he the odd man out?

Currently, yes. Said as much (as did others) in the Wolves pre-match thread. I would have him behind Palmer and Felix as a number 10, Jackon and Felix as a number 9, and Neto and Felix as a wide man. He does seem to offer goals, but he hasn't shown anywhere near enough just yet.

He is still our best finisher if you go by is past quality. Quality is permanent form is temporary.

He will score loads and I believe he will take time to get going after his injury.

I don't get you at all, how is this one of the first things you think of after a 6-2 win 😂

Nkunku absolutely has a role, as 1 of the versatile group of him, palmer, neto, Felix and madueke all competing for 3 positions.

Wacko, sterling and Mudryk shouldn’t be getting a look in.

Ah how the mind works, is a funny old thing.

BTW which have you enjoyed more, that second half showing, or Trev being exiled?

Good question, slightly the second half showing. Although if Trev played it might have been 7-6 to Wolves.

And how many with a back 3 of Badi, Disasi and Trev?

The only surprise is that Nkunku hasn't lit up the place the same way some of the other attackers have. Long term injuries are a bastard. If you ever recover, you still probably need 6 months to a year to get back to yourself again.

How Jackson starts ahead of him I will never be able to comprehend. And before anyone, says "he's not a centre-forward", please remember, neither is Jackson.

I found it bizarre that Mudryk was brought on before Nkunku today.  Seemed an utterly pointless substitution which could only have ever made us worse, and it did.

Better off with Nkunku up top, then Felix.

But nope, play The poor man's Kalou.

Perhaps Maresca thought Mudryk was more likely to win the game for us than N'kunku.

And if he did, that's even more worrying.

Surprised to see him getting the final 5 minutes..

Does Enzo rate him at all ?

More than likely/hopefully based on the workload on Thursday.

Going forward he and Palmer have to be starting any league and big cup match, the other two dependant on the opponent/tactical approach.

Think about how little he’s played for us and how many goals he’s scored. Just shows the quality he offers.

I think Enzo Maresca knows he is one of our best players, up there with Palmer. It’s just giving him time to get fully fit and not risk recurring an injury again.

I’m sure he will be a starter soon.
