March 2, 20242 yr He may come up with the odd goal here and there, but he's not good enough to lead any line. He's not involved enough.

He ruined a great attack, missed a clear-cut chance, scored a header and created a chance. All in all, had a better match than Ivan Toney that couldn't beat Chalobah.

He did next to f**k all throughout the entirety of it. It's laughable that you can call the others untalented but not put this guy in the same boat. He doesn't lead the line, he doesn't dominate games, there isn't a single team above us that would take him. A few below us wouldn't be interested either.

Criticise the guys quality but pretending he isn't involved in games is nonsensical. Jackson is always heavily involved that's why he's scored 11 goals this season missed 10000 chances and has a number of assists and notable linkup play. Unlike most the deadwood we've signed he's a young talented player that has ups and downs, is he good enough to lead our line and start every week? Absolutely not but blame the morons who built our squad for putting him in that position. We shouldn't have gone into the season with Jackson and the fella who stacks cones at Fulham (Broja is the definition of an uninvolved striker) as our options but Nico has had and will have a damn sight better career than any of the other young attackers at this club barring Palmer that's for sure.

Let's not forget that 3 of those came against a side that played to get beaten 10-0. He's scored in 9 games out of 30 and probably plays 1 good game in 10. He's as rubbish as you describe the other players to be.
March 2, 20242 yr I will day this for Nico, unlike our other 2 forward options at least he stays fit.

I'd agree with some of that. He is certainly involved. His failings are far from lack of effort or willingness. Young, I'd also agree with Talented, now that's a stretch. It really depends on what we are classing as talented. For me he will never be a regular in a well constructed Premier League squad. Not even a relegation standard team. Its true he is only starting for us because we've built a squad with about as much intelligence as 93% of Michael Caine's film choices. He is probably destined to be a lower to mid table player in France eventually

You're aware the other striker we went into the season with has 3 goals in his last 62 games across 3 different clubs? Won't make the Fulham bench once Jimenez recovers. Mudryks got 5 goals in 44 in English football. Which is equal to his good touch to bad touch ratio. Madueke has the impressive 5 in 33 but everytime he starts a game he's an opposition fullback, gets took off almost every time and has a total of 0 assists and 0 big chances created in the PL since he signed for us it's not looking great there. Yet for some reason some people want to pretend they're top talents. God knows why. I'm not sure if Jackson will ever be good enough, he definitely isn't good enough right now but I have sympathy for a player bought to be a supporting player being forced to lead the line every week because he's surrounded by absolute sh*t he gets a lot of criticism because he misses chances and he has to improve but given he's the only young attacking player at the club (bar Palmer) with the intelligence to make a f**king run and always gets involved I'll back the lad.
March 3, 20242 yr I like Nicolas Jackson, considering he doesn't take penalties 11 goals this season isn't that bad for a 22 year old I'd only sign a new striker if someone top class was available
March 3, 20242 yr Needed 3 or 4 big chances to score a goal, it's the level he's at so I'm not critical of him this game. The real issue of the game was Poch tried to match up against Brentford instead of trying to beat them with our best options and player. You do that in a big knockout game against a better team, not a team just above the drop zone🤫

March 3, 20242 yr Scored two headed goals in a week.... Clearly isn't capable of leading a line... Scores a goal yesterday and is pilloried by "fans". makes assists, but gets ridiculed for not doing enough for the team. win, lose or draw... our fans find ways to pick on Chelsea players. There is more criticism of the players and manager than there is of opposing players/ fans and teams... it is mind bending that so many cant get behind, support, be constructive about players playing for our club.
March 3, 20242 yr Young man moves to new country to a new league. Is open and honest about his own performances... wants to do better... applaud the guy cause he and the team will get better.

I really like the guy, doesnt hide like so many of our past multi million pound strikers. Remember Torres used to vanish behind the full backs overlapping him... Credit to our own Waco jacko. Anyhow, Newcastle paid 65 million for Isak and we paid half that for Jackson who has done really well so far in his first season. Both have 11 goal or assist contributions in the league this season. Both came from Spain and one has been here nearly 12 months longer. I'll take five league goals from him between now and end of season and I'd say that's a damn good Premier League debut season... Hope he bulks up a little for next year...
March 4, 20242 yr I can't complain too much about Jackson considering the fee we paid. Decision making will come with time but it's a decent return for someone playing his first full season as a striker and in a new league, seems to always put himself in positions to at least get chances and is almost always fit.

I'm not sure on how many bookings he is since his suspension, but I get the impression he is moaning less to the referee. Perhaps that particular penny has dropped.
March 4, 20242 yr In my opinion some people just love to look for holes to pick. I'm not surprised though. When there's nothing else to excite and distract you the words perspective, overlook and understand become very unpalatable. Nico since 2019, only 4 players have bettered his league return in Mount (10), Pulisic & Giroud (9), and Tammy (15) not counting penalty goals as of course he doesn't take them so to compare fairly I've excluded them. On probability, he will best all but Tammy and even Tammy there's a chance that he might get another team set up for conceding 50-0 to improve that number, since some think that he was the only player on the pitch against Spurs that should have scored. I am honestly surprised at the way we look at a 22 year old in his first season in a new country and a club with a reputation as ours and writing him off as not good enough to lead the line. How have supposedly better players fared in the last 5 seasons? He doesn't get involved in play they say yet whenever he has executed his play well when involved it has almost always torn the opposition apart and resulted in a goal or a miss by..... oh wait someone other than Nico. Is he inconsistent, yes, can he do better, yes, is he doing better than others before him have done or in the team are doing, yes. We are quick to write off a player costing a fraction of what others cost who we are willing to give a chance when on the face of value to the team he has contributed more to the team than what they have in their respective positions and function. I don't blame the fans, it's Todd Bullsh*t I blame. He has made us all joyless and nothing left to do but to fight each other, boo our players and when not booing them criticise them very unconstructively.
