I want Maresca out as he's makes me want to gouge out my eyes with a spoon when I watch Chelsea play. It's the first time in over 30 years I want a manager or coach to f**k the hell out of my club. Don't try and make this about hoping for failure and pretend you're occupying the high ground. You can't even explain how we've improved as you keep claiming

Imo we are better this season compare to last season. Btw this is coming from person who doesn't like Maresca since last summer. I don't like the bs that he said and more importantly what he represents.

But if we look purely from coaching pov, he is fine. We are fighting for top 4/5 and that is about what most expected coming to this season.

Performance wise, imo there is an improvement. I said in the middle of the season that it is not mainly down to Maresca it is always combination of manager and player. We have lots of young player and you expect them to improve season after season. Furthermore, We also signed few ready made players (Sancho, neto, Fofana, Lavia) who gave us good contribution from the get go. But Maresca should also get credit for the improvement.

So he met pre-season expectation and the performance improve, imo unless we can a clear upgrade, he deserve to stay.

@Bob stark that is your stock answer to everything!

Maresca is fine. Jacskon is fine. Sanchez is fine. Badiashille is fine.....................

Your definition of fine is clearly different to everyone else's and as for being better than last season? Did you mean better or DULLER?

From a coaching pov, fighting for top 4/5 is not an achievement as there are at least 10 to 15 other managers in the league that would be doing the same thing with this team. Between 5 to 10 of those managers would have already secured top 4 by now.

Performance wise, the main improvement has been conceding less. I don't believe other areas of our game have improved at all which is evident in that you can only really name 2 players that Maresca has improved during his time here so far.

As much as I dislike Maresca's style, I am not 100% against giving him another season to see if he can improve things but let's not try to pretend that what he has done is worthy of praise. He's done the minimum I would expect most managers to do with this team in a season that the likes of City, Spurs, etc have all dropped off.

I thought we actually played some good stuff up until around mid December under Maresca.

Then he said about wanting more control in matches and having it less like a basketball match.

Then there’s the unforgivable quote “we are not in a title race” whilst being 2nd in the table.

He could have said “we need to defend better as a team when the game is frantic” and “we are just taking it week by week, let’s see where we are in May” and I would have cut him more slack but that losers talk was sneak preview of the style and ambition of the man.

I think we’ll find out over these next three games whether Enzo is an “elite” manager or bang average. Business end of the season.

Don't like him, but Maresca can now turnaround and say he surpassed last season's points tally in the PL.

The truth is, if he hadn't had opened his big gob at Christmas when we were 2nd, we still be there now.

Thankfully James and Lavia are back, for the moment at least, and we're grinding out a few results... if clowns in the boardroom don't sign us a half decent striker in the summer they should be sacked.

As if you need any further proof. He is a one trick donkey - and a boring and unimaginative one at that

How are we better?

Maresca play very slow. Not create many chance. Still very bad and boring.

It’s a strange position that we find ourselves in - one game from champions league football and conference win and yet, most of us want the manager gone.

Shows the impatience of supporters in general.

Last night Utd were vastly more experienced than we were and despite all we got over the line.

Was it pretty ? Certainly not but defensively we are vastly improved and had we had a decent keeper we would be close to the top of the overall indeed I think we have the third best defensive record (joint) and I think the 5th best record in terms of goals scored.

Of course we has lost some guaranteed three points but build team takes time and along the way there will be problems but for me the progress is evident as are the areas that still need improvement

Getting real tired of this "people still think we are Chelsea under Roman" trope, it's just gaslighting to hide his inadequacies.

I just think it is the reality of the situation. Seems like fans are the only group not seeing that.

Context is very important:

D - Bournemouth

W - Wolves

W - West Ham

W - Southampton

W - Leicester

W - Spurs

D - Ipswich (lol)

W - Everton

W - Liverpool (hungover)

W - Man Utd

We honestly couldn't have asked for an easier run of games. Every teams battling relegation except for Liverpool who were still hungover.

Our overall form in 2025 would have us sat 8th. 9 wins from 19 with 25 scored and 22 conceded.

What is your excuse for other teams? None of those teams had Enzo Maresca as their coach

I mean he isn't wrong, and it's not his fault for this regression. It's a mix of the current and previous ownership. Before the new ownership we were still 19/20 or more points off of the top of the PL. When was the last time we were serious title challengers? Since Conte left in the second season we have been very poor and nowhere near competing. The league has gotten more competitive as well, better managers and players going to the so called "mid table" clubs, and the top 8 sides better than they've ever been, such as Bournemouth, Forest, Villa, Brentford, Brighton, etc, even Palace are creeping up there. I think our expectations need to be seriously tempered. Times have changed, teams have improved, and we need to expect that things won't improve immediately.
