I truly hope Torres goes out with a bang on Wednesday night.

Just looking at Sturridge today making it six goals in his last four games and Torres's

pathetic Premiership return not only during that period but since the turn of the year you have to

say whoever made the decision to keep Fernando and unload Danny was completely incompetent.

Once again Liverpool have turned us over bigtime they are our curses for sure but now is the time

to look forward and onward even if Lukaku on loan would have been a better bet than this scouse imposter.

Jose is smart and this club will return to greatness without Benetiz, Beneyoun and Torres,

Lewandowski for me is the man we need and I am not sure if Jose will fancy Ba, so you have to think

Lukaku will play a major part next season with Shurrle.

If Torres chooses a day todo something special for us Wednesday night is it.

ba was rotten yesterday and looked like bambi staggering around all loose-legged. attributable in part to lack of game time perhaps? against spurs torres was good in the first half, but what does concern me is this sustained insistence on punting long balls in the hope he's going to make it stick.

unfortunately we are somewhat lumbered with two mediocre strikers, with what may appear to be our best one being out on loan.

fingers crossed for a result on Wednesday. . and roll on summer so we can make some much-needed changes to the squad

to be honest, i don´t know the facts, but i believe that ba got more minutes on the pitch than sturridge (who is banging them in)...so maybe it is also a question of style/set up why he can't reach the form and ratio he had at nufc.

I think we need to give Ba two and a half years before we make any judgements.

And get rid of anyone that doesn't pass to him.

And we should build a team around him.

And get a manager that he likes.

And after all that,

even if he is still sh*t,

.............................he should be our first choice striker.

It is the Roman way.

Careful, if you keep that talk up, you will be the next Chelsea manager.

Admittedly never watched much of Newcastle's games before Ba came here but his stats were pretty decent. He has looked a different player since he came here & it might be worthwhile arguing if we are some sort of graveyard for forwards. Sounds a bit crazy; but think of it Drogba's proficiency was down to his ability, as several games we just lumped it up to him & he made something out of nothing. Or are we set up in a way that just happens to suit Lamps arriving late in the box. In the Roman era the only forwards that have come quite close to being deadly are Crespo & Mutu to an extent.

Seems to be a lot of tip-tappy around the box with very little directness, and for all the brilliance of the 3 amigos none of them seems to be able to beat a man, look up & ping in a cross early, there is always that extra touch.

Doesnt matter, at the end of the day neither Torres or Ba are good enough for a club like us.

We need to act quickly and go for a world class striker but im fearing the ship for Cavani, Falcao and Lewandowski has sailed, we might have to settle for Wayne Rooney this summer with Lukaku back as well.

I think Ba is good enough to be a third or fourth option, he is a solid hardworking striker. He had good and bad games so far but I've seen more from him in this short period than I've seen from Torres in the last two and a half seasons. He also delivered in big games, scored some stunning goals against United and City without having much service.

Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only in this thread could that be written as a serious statement.

Ducavis let me introduce to you, the one, the only........................ Mr Eden Hazard.

You obviously haven't seen him.

He could could beat a man wearing only his man-kini and his flip flops.

Any striker, (at least any striker worthy of the label), would surrender a testicle to have the creativity and service our 3 amigos can give.

I like how people say Ba's not good enough to be first choice, why? Because he came from Newcastle? Rooney went from Everton to United. If we played him consistently each week instead of humoring one of the worst strikers in Chelsea historys massive ego then he'd have a lot more goals than he does. Not that I don't want a new striker, just think it's funny seeing people write off Ba so quickly.

I think you may have taken that line out of context. I'm open to correction but I think ducavis was saying that you don't see them beat their man and then whip in the early cross, instead taking an extra touch or two, slowing the whole thing down.

Something of a fair point too, but the counter to it would be there's little point whipping in an early cross given the lack of numbers and movement in the box that we've seen all too often this season.

Again some one getting near the mark, that the amigos don't set up for out and out goals for a striker, Torres may be garbage, Ba was bought in a rich vein of form, and the Amigos don't help supplying him, i will say it again, the team is midfield orientated, they run direct to try and score, not help a striker, because the pass, pass, tippety tap pass, reluctance to cross from wide, takes away any space, hopefully a new striker will help, but the amigos the way they play, may have to change slightly the style..

so our midfielders still arent good enough for our strikers. first it was that they dont pass at all, now they pass too much

as they say in my country: for a faulty cock, every hair is a problem

seems that this whole team needs to bend over backwards for a f**king striker to score

City play pretty much the same way and their strikers don't have problems scoring goals.

I agree that the way we play is not conducive to any striker compared to say how United play but they play dangerously close to being a one man team, a bit like Real or Barca where the rest of the team seem to be a sideshow for the star forward.

PS has anyone else considered the reason why we are so 'tippy tappy' (a stupid term) is because a certain striker isn't making runs into the box to meet the early cross?

torres is not making the right runs?

you-dont-say.jpeg

You missed the point guys. The Tres Amigo's have been all for us this season but as we've seen they are not really playing the way our strikers end the attacks. That is down to them and the strikers but ultimately teamgame. We are an unfinished product.

Many times those guys "stop" the game close the corner flag but I'm guessing it is down to the fact they are looking for Torres in the box but he is nowhere to be found nor worth passing to as he can't seem to finish.

Ba in my mind is making the right runs but he haven't finished well either. He's only been here since January.

Anyway my point is our teamgame is not fluent and the reason our strikers are not scoring is not solely down to strikers. Why else would Ba score 15 goals without difficulty to come here and struggle to score? Manager should address these difficulties.

I agree somewhat, been many times this season I've said it wouldnt matter if we had falcao up front because of some of the play going on, either lumping it up from the back 24/7 or not providing enough service for our front man.

That being said though, can't see Ba being our front man out in Europe as well even if he was given loads of chances, dont think José will think so either.

I havent slagged Torres off..I dont like doing these things to our own...BUT....I NOW believe he should go for his own career and for the best for chelsea fc...We will lose money , but hey, we do that often anyway with getting rid of personnel...I hope that the players they acrue in the next couple of months can gel and play in a balanced way to take the prem from DAM UTD next season...We are very very close at it is

oops was an error! was typing on the ipad meant 'all of them can beat a man' but won't look-up. cant seem to be able to edit it, my bad.

Sturridge was here as well and although he didn't play too much he struggled to score. At Liverpool he scores from the passes of the creative geniuses like Henderson, Downing and Allen better known as the three scousers.

Maybe 4-2-3-1 isn't a strikers heaven...
