Just listening to the After show talk on  talksport, some bloke on their commenting on Torres, and he has been timed this year repeatedly, and he is no slower than when at liverpool, its in his head apparently, strange but true, at times he does look remarkably quick, others???

Great header, was hoping it would set him off to have a great game but it got very sloppy for the next 20 minutes with both teams giving the ball away so cheaply.

My criticism over the last few weeks hasn't been about the level of opposition hes been scoring against, its actually been more about the lack of good finishes. We've been seeing him score but rarely emphatically putting the ball past a keeper. Its been tap ins, rebounds and shinned/studded finishes.

That finish was what i wanted to see. Not saving that

Timed by whom? Unless he's running sprints that are being electronically timed and then evaluated against his results from when he played at Liverpool, there's no merit to such a comparison. Just from watching him play it's clear that he's lost a step. Something may be going on in Torres' head, but it's not affecting his pace. Wonky knees are doing that.

I'd been wanting to see some movement, ability and above all desire and saw all three in that goal. Important one is was too.

Twice in 2 days your comments have annoyed long standing posters on this forum!

I would suggest that you need to take a look at yourself.

think what he said was fine and valid, the response was a massive over reaction like most things in this thread

He has Been timed over 20 metre sprints this season, and still what they were at pool, don't shoot the messenger, also in a daily after a recent game, they had stats for everything, and he was quickest player on pitch, by a good few Mph.

I'm not shooting the messenger, but I am skeptical of the message. Obviously eyes can deceive, but any measure of speed other than FAT (fully automated timing, wherein electronic devices register the start and finish of a run) is bound to be unreliable.

Brilliant from nando today! Glad he was taken of on the hour mark because he is going to be a big player for us over this christmas period. It also shows he has really got his confidence back because before he would of been kept on in the hope of getting a few confidence boosting goals.

Another thing to add, is anyone watching the champions league final replay now on sky sports? I never realised how much torres changed that game! Should of had a pen in extra time as well.

It was an outstanding goal, and if ever anything will see a return of his confidence (as we are constantly told this is his problem) then a goal like that should do it. Now, if he doesnt kick on then we know it is something else that is causing his lack of any form, surely.

Still think he looks poor. Imagine what falcao, rvp etc. would have done to villa

Well Falcao was on a run of 6 games without scoring so maybe he would not have scored?

He has looked poor but yesterday was one of his best in a Chelsea shirt and he was nowhere near poor as you are saying.

Credit where credit is due?

For some though they are blinded by bitterness and hatred.........meh ah well.

Credit has to go to Azpi as well. What a delicious cross that was.

Fantastic signing.

Getting better too, really happy with Cesar so far this season.

Although the final score made the game a landslide the opening goal is always key so I think more credit to Torres should be given.  It was also a very good finish and he did everything right in terms of his positioning, his run into the box, and his movement to create the space between the defenders.

If we can see that more regularly rather than in the occasional game then we can start thinking that he might be getting some sort of form back against decent opposition.

He played well and his header was very good but he wasn't as good as some of you are saying. I'll be extremely disappointed if he is still our first choice striker after January. His movement is still almost non-existent. What pisses me off the most is that he's clearly trying harder under FSW.
