He is getting absolutely destroyed on instagram. Half of them are Chelsea fans telling him to f**k off, and the other half are barca and rival fans laughing at him.

Disgusting people who are fan's only when we do well

I'm not a fan of Tibo, but some of the abuse he's getting on social media is disgusting. By all means be unhappy with his performance, but to go as far as some of those so called fans have is out of order.

It’s great he’s doing a contract extension, but I have no doubt if he was on fire this season he’d be pushing for a move away.

Next season he performs excellent every game, he’ll start calling for the likes of Madrid to come for him.

I’d give him one more season but I’m pretty sure he’s not fully committed to Chelsea.

Hopefully.

Well I would actually want him to go get 60+ million for him. He's not as good as people make out, so many goals he let in that De Gea and Oblak would save vastly overrated and doesn't justify 200k a week

And I would want £60k for my good old vauxhall.

Highly doubt if Real are going to bid for him after the sh*t show in barcelona. Especially since Perez has a habit of going after flavour of the season players.

I we are very very lucky, PSG might come in that too because they are known to be idiots.

And Courtois wouldn't have conceded ANY of the goals De Gea has conceded by staying on his line.

besides Oblak, i'd love to know from the people who want him out who they'd replace him.. he's had a few stinkers this year but overall a great goalie and the best keeper in the prem behind de gea.

Perhaps. My view is that while De Gea is a great shot stopper. He lacks in other areas. Tibo controls the area superbly which was always Cech's challenge.

As for big saves, in a losing cause his tip onto the post from Sanchez in the League Cup and his save from Felliani to get us a win against United come to mind.

I'm sorry but i disagree. De Gea's positioning is excellent. Yes his athleticism is worlds apart from Courtois but that also comes from perceiving danger quicker, postiioning yourself and setting your body in such a way that reaction shot stopping is comparatively easier. Those "how did he do that", "lucky to be in the right place at the right time" point blank saves don't just happen.

Distribution is top drawer from Dea Gea. he can pretty much strum the ball anywhere on the pitch. Our bloke never looks comfortable, never looks like he has set himself, and invariably will shank the ball on numerous occasions each match.

All that Courtois can do above De Gea is collect high crosses coming into the box. Just as well really because if any cross does get in he invariably will fail to save any resulting shot if it is low bottom corners.

If De Gea had Vidic and Ferdinand in front of him he would be even better, I doubt Tibo would be any different with Terry and Ricky Infront of him he's just not not great

No he wouldn't, he would have less shots to face which will mean he won't be in his element.

Replacements:

Becker - Roma

Neto - Valencia

Donnarumma - Milan

Rico - Sevilla

Pope - Burnley

Butland - Stoke

Without putting any major thought into it i think any of these would be an improvement.

On a slight tangent. Been seeing some Sheffield United fans waxing lyrical about Jamal Blackman recently. Plenty of top class saves. Perhaps he is due to come back in some capacity next season?

I've watched his highlights a few times and to me he just looks awkward. His positioning is weird and so many shots he parries back into danger. He makes saves, but his general play looks like a outfield player playing in goal. It's odd.

He's got the shot stopping down and the physicality.

I'd feel great about another season on loan to pick up some experience and nuance then bringing him back as #2 provided he keeps progressing. Fills up a HG slot and he would be free.

Can't see both Willy and Eduardo sticking around as players past next season. Finding a capable backup willing to be the backup isn't easy.

I actually like Caballero, he had hands on the goal for Vardy it was just too powerful. I really wouldn't mind the idea of him playing more games, might make Courtois think twice? For me Courtois thinks he's a lot better than he is and that isn't always a good thing.

I like Caballero too, but he's a bit like Hilario. Hilario would make a few saves, but then out of nowhere, he would just make a complete fool of himself from a corner. Caballero is a good shot stopper, but he's not very composed from corners or charging off his line.

I think i would still rather play Caballero over Courtois at the moment though, we need our keeper making saves and Courtois just doesn't do it enough.

I recall Caballero had a few trying games at City and think then he struggled with crosses or corners that led to his departure. I think he is a good number two and should perhaps be used a bit more frequently yet don't think Courtois is that poor that he should sit regularly on the bench.
